What are you seeking in your child’s home theater? Sunbury Performing Arts isn’t just a children’s theater, we are a community of knowledgeable, trained professionals, incredible volunteers, and happy, kind, tremendously talented actors, all of whom work together to lift each other up. We create excellent opportunities for our actors, and along the way, we make great theater grounded in classical training.

Our fabulous Parent Volunteer Coordinator/upcoming stage manager, Annie Prenoveau, asked our actors and their parents how they feel about SPA, and she compiled some of their answers in the graphic below.

As you can see, we’re more than just a theater, we’re the place where you can feel free to explore, stretch, and grow in a warm, safe environment. We’re the place where you belong.

Come check us out, take a class, see a show, audition for a show, and be a part of our rich, diverse, beautiful culture!

Let's bust some myths about our “Fetch” Broadway show adaptation, where a positive environment is guaranteed! 💖

MYTH: "The show has too many mature jokes and adult themes for my child."

✅ FACT: this JR. Show is a heavily sanitized adaptation. Broadway writers stripped out all adult language, inappropriate songs and punchlines, and mature themes. It is a completely family-friendly script!👗

MYTH: "It just celebrates being mean."

✅ FACT: This show is actually an amazing anti-bullying tool! It shows kids the real-world consequences of gossip and celebrates the power of lifting each other up.

A few fun Facts about our "fetch" Broadway Junior adaptation of the hit 2004 film and musical. Tailored for younger performers and younger audiences, the show maintains all the iconic catchphrases, high school hijinks, and the famous Burn Book, while tweaking the script to be completely clean and family-friendly:) .

A Family Affair: The musical's book was written by Tina Fey, with music composed by her husband, Jeff Richmond, and lyrics by Nell Benjamin.

Spotless Plastics: The JR. adaptation was carefully edited and revised by the writers to remove all adult language and profanity, making it perfectly safe for middle and early-high school stages.

The show uses the popular theater kids—Janis Sarkisian and Damian Hubbard—as "fourth-wall-breaking" narrators to keep the story moving at a snappy, energetic pace.

No Audition Needed? One of the movie's most iconic characters, Glen Coco (who received four candy canes), didn't even audition. The actor, Daniel Reale, snuck onto the film set for free food, and the director randomly decided to cast him in the chair!

Audition dates are July 31 and August 1. Need to send in a video? No problem, just make a note of it on the form! Sign up today!!

AGES: Actors going into 6th grade through 12th grade for the 2026-2027 school year. This is the junior version of the show, This means that the licensing agency has made a very big point of making this a family friendly environment for both the viewers and the actors, which is one of SPA’s core va...
