The White Ibis (Eudocimus albus ) is a common wading bird in the Southeast coastal areas of the United States. They sweep their long bill side to side while foraging along shorelines and flooded areas. The Florida population is declining due to habitat loss, but their numbers are increasing overall in the U.S.

The summer started by planning and plotting outings and adventures to get my wife and family out into the cold water and the wet forest. Anyone with a family may understand that is a big job, so I will spare you the details. After much investigating, we were able to find specific wildlife (Bears, Eagles, Orcha, bubble-net feeding Humpbacks, Moose, and Salmon), and visit awe-inspiring wild spaces! I was compelled to get back to my studio to create art. I created over 100 paintings this summer. I am excited to share my visions of nature with you! International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem

UNESCO has designated July 26 as the International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem. Mangroves protect coastlines from erosion, provide nursery habitats for fish, and store large amounts of carbon dioxide. However, despite the many advantages that healthy mangrove ecosystems bring, more than two-thirds of the world’s mangroves have been lost or degraded. On this environmental day, UNESCO seeks to educate the public about mangroves and the need for conservation.
