Why it is so important to get your horses teeth check and floated at least once a year. This is a geriatric horse from last week with a poor body condition and multiple malocclusions in his mouth including:
-incredibly sharp buccal (cheek side) and lingual (tongue side) points on the teeth
- nearly expired upper molars which have very little tooth life left
The sharp points on the buccal side of the upper molars have made it nearly impossible for this horses to chew and has resulted in the poor condition in the second picture.
