It’s time again for Junior company Auditions. This fall will be producing a double feature based on horror classics directed by Edward Frazier Auditions are open to all middle and high school aged actors. For everyone’s safety we’re going to schedule auditions in advance order to work with one actor at a time.

Please email [email protected] to schedule an audition. Auditions will be held Wednesday, August 5th, and Thursday, August 6th.

Dracula The Death of Nosferatu
Based on the work of Bram Stoker

Characters
Dr. Arthur Seward
A highly respected physician. He specializes in working with the criminally insane.

Snelling
Hospital warden and the doctor's assistant.

Professor Van Helsing
A renowned scholar from the continent who specializes in eastern European diseases and the occult.

Johnathan Harker
Young well to do lawyer

Mina Murray
An attractive young woman who is engaged to Jon Harker.

R. M. Renfield
A mad man or woman and patient at Dr. Seward’s asylum for the insane. He has been somehow affected by Count Dracula possibly hypnotized and promised eternity.

Count Dracula
The beast, the ageless living and dead in human form who prays upon humankind for their blood which gives him eternal life.

Henry Clerval
Victor’s boyhood friend, who nurses. After working unhappily for his father, Henry begins to follow in Victor’s footsteps as a scientist. His cheerfulness counters Victor’s moroseness.

Victor Frankenstein
discovers the secret of life and creates an intelligent but grotesque monster, from whom he recoils in horror.

Rebecca Nevel
Henry’s fiancé ,she develops a friendship with Victor and learns of his work.

Inspector Brinson
Police inspector Investigating claims of murders committed by a monster.

Officer Krepps
Inspector Brinson’s assistant helping with the investigation.

The Creature
The eight-foot-tall, hideously ugly creation of Victor Frankenstein. Intelligent and sensitive, the monster attempts to integrate himself into human social patterns, but all who see him shun him. He seeks revenge on his creator

The rhythmic pounding of horses’ hooves, the creaking of old doors and heavy footsteps on a wooden floor are just some of the sounds you will hear in The Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow: Live Radio Play on October 25-27 in the Whitaker Black Box Theater at 41 West Main Street.The imaginative 60-minute radio live-on-stage drama is an adaptation of Washington Irving’s famous short story, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” and will be performed by the members of the Averitt Center’s Junior Theater Company.

Show Times:
October 25-26: 7:30 p.m.
October 27: 3:00 p.m. (right before Scare on the Square)

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls of all ages, please join me to give a big (virtual) round of applause to our new theatre instructors! Melanie Moore and Timothy C VanBeverhoudt Jr.! Here they are with Robert Cottle, who you’ll recognize from summer camp and “Mary Poppins.” This team has experience teaching theatre in the public school system and will now be basing their lessons on the GA performance standards for Theatre.
