Seattle’s REDEFINE Magazine has invited us to contribute to nationwide piece about cultural space preservation, centered around resiliency and survival of DIY spaces! 🗞✨
According to Editor In Chief, Vivian Hua: “This multi-thousand-word piece is intended to raise visibility for DIY venue culture and assist with potential avenues towards long-term advocacy,” and is part of their 2020 REDEFINED Relaunch.

We are incredibly honored to have the opportunity to share Statesboro’s story (& some BIG announcements) with our friends in Seattle! 📢😉💬

Epic Announcements!

1st: THANK YOU. Thank you to everyone in the community who supports independent art. THANK YOU to oldsoul, SubuTech, Redeye & Josephine Johnson for our February 18 show, and for being incredible musicians & even more incredible people 😘 Seriously, the most sincere THANK YOU to every person who volunteers their time and love to keep this community alive!

2nd: Last night's Senior Showcase Movie Marathon ft. "Toy With Me" by BC Films was INCREDIBLE! We hosted 18 artists and showcased 15 short films!? Like WHAT? We're so thankful for everyone who shared their craft, and everyone who came out to support them. All the proceeds will be going to the senior projects being produced this semester 🎥🎭

For ANY DONATION, you may REQUEST THE SLIDE DECK, with all of the film links and artist information! Just email [email protected] with the subject: "SENIOR SLIDE DECK" for more info

3rd: As of next Saturday, we are hosting OPEN MIC nights EVERY OTHER SATURDAY at 7:00! Open mics will be open to any live performance, including but not limited to: Music, Spoken Word, Comedy, etc.

We will also be hosting one dedicated showcase for each of the following mediums per month: Music, Literature, Comedy, Film & 2D/3D Art 🏡😍

4th: Now that the Senior Screening is behind us, it's time to OFFICIALLY announce MARCH MUSIC MADNESS at the Hollow!
We have 3 stacked shows in 3 weeks!!!
• MARCH 10 - Out of System Transfer & The Sum Buddy's
• MARCH 14 - Mildew, Anywhere From Here & Rebecka Moreno Music

Why a masquerade for the Roarin' 20s Speakeasy Showcase? JANUS, OF COURSE!

The tradition of New Years began as a Roman holiday to celebrate the god Janus, the one with two faces! January was named for Janus, so the first day of the first month is the day Romans would honor him!

"According to lore, he was the custodian of the universe but, to all Romans, he was the god of the beginnings and the ends, presiding over every entrance and departure, and because every door and passageway looks in two directions, Janus was seen as two-faced or "Janus bifrons" -- the god who looked both ways."

Pop by this Saturday at 4:00 in your Roarin' 20s themed attire and be prepared to jive! We'll have live music, poetry & comedy, as well as a back room bar and game room, featuring some interactive quests and exchanges!

Cash in at the bar and we'll exchange it for club currency--good for cocktails, snacks, games & interactive art activities!
