Come learn about elements of photography and go out and shoot around downtown State College! Each day we will learn something new and go out and practice. Composition, lighting, storytelling.
You must provide camera. Digital slr, point and shoot, ipod, ipad, smart phone are all welcome.

Each day will begin with a 20-30 minute lesson in The Makery *with masks and open doors, and the remainder of the session will be spent exploring downtown state college and campus to photograph.

First, we would like to encourage you to simply move to another session so your child can have the experience of Makery Summer Camp. However, we understand that things come up and you may need to cancel all together. To do so, please call or email us with this information.
$50 Deposit is not refundable or transferable at any time unless it is a medical reason (must have written explanation from Doctor).
If you cancel with more than 30 days till the session start date, then you will receive all money paid EXCEPT $50 refund.

Good morning, makers! 🧶 We are now offering our crochet hat class as a single session on Sunday, February 6th from 4pm-6pm. $35, supplies included. 🧶

In this class, we will learn to make a hat from top down, using the double crochet stitch. We will learn to increase the number of stitches. Beginners are welcome!

This class is limited to five people and masks are required.

Super exited for our Decorative Wall Tile Workshop, Sunday 1/30 4-6 pm. We have 4 spots left. Masking is required. You are welcome to bring a drink of your choice!

This tile was created by laying and smoothing many coils on top of the slab to create rhythm! This is raw clay with no glaze. We have lots of glazes to choose from too!

What: Come and create a decorative wall tile or group of tiles as we sculpt and glaze on clay slabs! This tile can displayed as a work of art on the wall or on a plate stand. Pick up on or after 2/9.

Coming soon… this summer we are offering three weeks of Clay Camp!
Where: The Makery, 123 S.Fraser St. State College

When: Weekdays, 1-4 pm
Week 1, 6/27-7/1
Week 2, 8/1-5
Week 3, 8/15-19

What: Spend a week creating in clay and making new friends! Each day we learn a new hand-building technique, exploring the medium. We take a break each day for snack either in the Martin Luther King Plaza or at the Duck Pond on campus! Friday we celebrate by going to Duck Donuts! The end of the day is free time. The children have a table where they can work together to create an “environment”. This is where imaginations soar!

Please bring a snack and drink every day!

An Art Show showcasing your child’s creations will be held on a Sunday at 6pm on the following dates:

Week 1 Camp, July 10th, Sunday 6 pm
Week 2 Camp, August 14th, Sunday 6 pm
Week 3 Camp, August 28th, Sunday 6 pm

Please bring a box and newspaper to carry your child’s pottery home.
