I didn’t get a great shot of Toxicodendron when I made it back in 2021, so here it is hanging in Cafe Atlantique, Milford, in a show curated by thehechyeomoyeo ! I’m so happy to get this one back out in the world. Toxicodendron features poison ivy (toxicodendron radicans) in its beautiful fall colors.

Here I am during my first (?) visit to I-Park Foundation up in East Haddam, CT, back in 2018! I was just beginning to find my artistic voice through time spent in nature. 🦋I’m not sure who created these sculptures from found materials (if anyone recognizes them, enlighten me), but these artworks profoundly impacted young me.
~~
Soon I’ll create my own sculptures out in these woods! I have an upcoming 2wks residency at I-Park this September. As I pulled together application materials a few months back, I reflected deeply on the experiences that brought me here. I grew tremendously through my first residency at the Norwalk Art Space. Collaboration and interaction are critical to my art (yes, even despite being an introvert), and the encouragement of my colleagues changed the trajectory of my art.
~~
At I-Park I’m excited to mesh my sculptural and painterly languages and symbolisms, as well as create art that interacts with both humans and nature (being both large and outdoors🌱). My practice flourishes with woven threads of installation and relief, painting and sculpture. I look forward to creating more site-responsive sculptures that use sculptural and painterly sensibilities in tandem.
~~
I’ll keep you all posted! 👀

I had a wonderful time spent with fabulous people at Pistachio Cafe last Sunday💕 thank you to Nana for helping me with tons of prep, setup, and cleanup; Rita and Arch for coming out to support me and then getting sucked into setup, too😂; AnnaDea Chavez and Teddy Chavez for keeping me company and supporting with the hardest part, marketing; and of course the visitors who paused to chat and purchase paintings and Pistachio Cafe who generously hosted! I loved meeting new art appreciators, but I also felt so grateful for the old friends who joined me. I have the best circle!

Just sharing a blooper of metalworking without a metalshop💀Soon I’ll share why I needed to make a loop out of rebar. I am preparing for a project that I’ll create during my upcoming residency at I-Park Foundation this September!

This summer I had the honor of painting a utility box in Stamford Downtown at Columbus Park! As with much of my art, this painting focuses on , celebrating and welcoming these famous annual immigrants on their remarkable journeys. I am happy to create a landmark contributing to Stamford’s rich arts culture. 🦋
Keep your eyes👀 open for more of these utility box artworks popping up, created by my colleagues, Siobhán Kiernan | Jewelry Designer & Artist ipisode_ink_ and others! And shoutout to Nana ‘s fashion designer sister, Stella Amoah, who created my skirt by hand!
