My passion for art is nothing new, but time to create it was very limited until I retired. I became part of an amazing online art community in the fall of 2023, and much of the work that I will share on this site is created under instruction of Ali Kay Studios. I work from photo references of my own as well, and would love to create art that is meaningful to you, from your references. I had always

envisioned more time to work for causes important to me, and I have made a decision to permanently donate 20% of all sales to charitable causes of the client's choice.

Way too long since I’ve painted, but I’m on the other side of the move now, and in my beautiful new studio so hope to be putting more time in regularly.

This little orange rose is a Fresh Paint inspiration to help me get back in the groove.

This commission was delayed due to life’s many speed bumps, but I’m pleased to call it done, and well-received. Very challenging!

Christmas in July? Well, kind off… These 3 pieces were holiday and bday gifts for dear friends we were supposed to see over the holidays. Mom’s health delayed the visit a bit, but they finally found their rightful homes about two weeks ago- and I’m so grateful for how they are appreciated! The plane is my take on an Ali Kay lesson, personalized for a very cool kiddo!

I’ve found myself in a season of life that is really prohibitive for new creations, but since today is World Turtle Day, I thought I’d share this buddy, inspired by Ali Kay Studios, painted about a year ago.

Can’t wait to get back to the easel!

One of the things I enjoy about working from references is that you can reproduce a piece you really like more easily, and perhaps share with more people. Of course the more times an image is painted, the less valuable it may be, but my take is that each piece is unique; I am applying the paint to the surface directly, even if the reference is the same.

My goal as a creative person is to spread a little joy and give back through my paintings, so painting what folks enjoy is important to me.

Here are two pieces painted from the same reference; an image I created through the app Canva. One was gifted to a dear friend, and one was sold at Liberty Town's small works show in the fall. I may paint it again one day, but not for a while - too many projects in mind!
