Artist Thomas Scoon creates human figures from cast glass and granite stone. Shawn walks us through the artistry and skill necessary to create such imposing sculptures that resonate with life. Scoon’s work can be found in museums throughout the country and significant private collections. This piece measures 66” in height and is dazzling in person.

Shawn is kicking off our series called “What Would You Take Home” and his choice is the Scott Foxx acrylic on board entitled “Vision of the White Dog.” Foxx’s work reflects his view and commentary on the South, while using stirring figural images, deliberate use of color, and an ability to saturate yet control the metaphorical meanings. No easy feat, yet he accomplishes it beautifully. Which piece would you take home?

Great art is timeless. These three prints by Robert Malone were created between 1967-1972 and are as fresh as if they were done this month. Malone was an accomplished and original printmaker who used saturated colors and unusual imagery to create unique montages that invite thoughtful discussion and interpretation. These are all currently available in our Gallery. Which is your favorite? Sentinel, 1967; Suburban Night, 1967; Dream Near Loch Ness Beach, 1972.
