Midnight's JUST ONE LOOK Begins Fourth Year at BLUE STRAWBERRY
The Midnight Company begins its fourth year In Residence at The Blue Strawberry with the next presentation of its Linda Ronstadt show, JUST ONE LOOK on Friday, April 17, at 7:30pm. Tickets are on sale now at BlueStrawberrySTL.com or by calling 314-256-1745. Blue Strawberry is located in the Central West End of St. Louis, at 364 N. Boyle, 63108. At the Blue Strawberry, doors open at 6pm for dinner and drinks before shows.
“Folks should check in about getting tickets soon,” said Joe Hanrahan, Midnight’s Artistic Director. “Maybe it’s the Spring weather coming, but the room is filling up fast for the April show.”
Hanrahan wrote and directed JUST ONE LOOK. The show takes one through the eventful life and glorious music of Ronstadt’s career. Her romances included a presidential candidate and Star Wars creator George Lucas, and was rumored to include an array of rock luminaries including (possibly) Mick Jagger. And her staggering music career resulted in 100 million records sold, 10 Grammy Awards and a place in the Rock ’N Roll Hall of Fame.
Kelly Howe portrays Linda Ronstadt, and delivers a sparkling lineup of her celebrated songs. Howe’s vocals and performance have drawn lavish praise, and is the centerpiece of an evening that has drawn numerous repeat attendees
Hanrahan portrays a rock journalist who finally gets his interview with his long, unrequited love, and leads her through stories and songs of her time. The band, which has backed Kelly Howe for three years, is made up of Curt Landes, Music Direction/Piano; Mark Rogers, Drums/Vocals;
and Tom Maloney, Guitar/Bass. “They are an expert crew,” said Hanrahan. “They’ve played with Chuck Berry and many more of the Rock ’N Rollers of the Ronstadt era.
“And,” said Hanrahan, “For our third anniversary show in March, we added three new Ronstadt songs as a celebratory encore, and there’s a good chance we’ll be adding at least one for future shows.”
Midnight has a future JUST ONE LOOK show scheduled at Blue Strawberry on Thursday, May 21. And Midnight will be presenting the St. Louis premiere of WAKEY WAKEY by Will Eno in July at The Chapel.
