𝚃𝚘𝚍𝚊𝚢 𝚒𝚗 𝟸𝟶𝟷𝟼, 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 performed his final concert at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to the concert taking place, 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 had cancelled two shows earlier that month because of flu, apologizing to his dedicated fans.

His last series of shows were part of a run in eight cities billed as the 𝙋𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙤 & 𝘼 𝙈𝙞𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙏𝙤𝙪𝙧, in which 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 would play twice per night, performing a series of his acclaimed back catalogue alongside popular covers, with just a piano to accompany him.

At the age of 57, 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 wanted to take it back to basics to prove he was still a magnetic presence in an intimate setting.

The final song of his performance was 𝙋𝙪𝙧𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙍𝙖𝙞𝙣. Little did the crowd know, that this would end up being his final ever performance, as 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 passed away a week later.

Happy Heavenly Birthday to one of my mentors in Jazz broadcasting, Dennis Owsley. He has had a HUGE and lasting impact on my career. He was an icon in our community. He will never be forgotten.
