The St. Louis arts community has lost a true visionary.

We join so many others in remembering Sally Brayley Bliss, whose lifelong dedication to dance transformed lives both on and off the stage. As a performer, educator, arts advocate, and leader, Sally devoted her career to nurturing artists, preserving the art form she loved, and ensuring future generations had the opportunity to experience it.

In 2010, Sally was honored with the Visionary Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her extraordinary contributions to the arts and the lasting impact she made on our community. Her influence continues to be seen in the organizations she strengthened, the dancers she mentored, and the audiences she inspired.

We are honored to have celebrated Sally’s remarkable legacy through the Visionary Awards and extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, colleagues, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
