Official announcement: Based on popular demand I'll be doing a "Dad's Favorites" image shortly after Batocera v42 releases. It'll consist of the top 25ish games for a wide variety of systems. I'll be sure to include more retro PC stuff like Commodore 64 as well.

I want to make sure everything works on this one before it goes out, so I may need a few play testers if anyone is interested. I'll be sure to reach out when the image is ready.

Fun fact: I originally came up with the BoredGameDad name to use on a YouTube channel reviewing board games. Specifically because I helped crowd fund the Evil Dead 2 game and was excited to share an unboxing and review. That game ended up being delayed for years, so I pivoted to video games and the rest is history!

Here are the games we're playing this weekend! What are you playing?

Greetings, Gamers! Sorry for the delay in new posts, the New Year has been hectic so far!

I do have a fantastic update to share: I'm now an authorized retailer for Hyperkin! I'm planning on placing a big order this weekend and I'd love to know what products you're interested in. They carry everything from controllers to consoles!

What Hyperkin products would you like to see available on my page?

The Raspberry Pi 5 has been announced! But at a $60 price point then buying a case and power supply, it's a much better value to repurpose a used tiny PC (which can be found for $80 to $100 on the low end).

That being said, I don't have any plans at this time for Raspberry Pi 5 images since I won't personally be investing in the hardware.

Greetings, Gamers!

I've been asked many times over the past few years how people can support what I do, so I've finally decided to offer a one-stop shop for anyone that would like to contribute to my mission of bringing retro to the masses!

I'm offering 3 tiers to start with and look forward to any feedback on any changes you might like to see to the rewards. All proceeds from this page will go into hardware and software to enable me to create larger images to share with the masses, images for more diverse products, upgrading repair equipment (soldering stations, etc), and acquisition of various used retro consoles for repair.

Patrons at any tier will ALWAYS get first dibs early access to any items that I plan on listing for sale online.

If you love retro gaming, you're in the right place! Thank you for your Patronage!!!

Patrons on this tier get access to my Patreon exclusive community, as well as behind-the-scenes posts of what I'm working on next.

Greetings, gamers! My friends at WamWam Games have just launched a Kickstarter for their brand new card game Shiner! (Their first game, Turn for the Wurst, was recently featured as an answer on Jeopardy!)

Shiner is an addictive, strategic micro card game from WAMWAM GAMES. 2-3 players battle for control of the h***h industry in this prohibition themed moonshine game.

You'll find the link to check out the game in full and make a pledge below. I'll also include a link to their website in the comments so you can check out Turn for the Wurst and keep track of what crazy fun projects they come up with next!
