In March, I asked for prayers for a sweet family facing an incredibly scary medical emergency during birth. I was supposed to photograph a fresh48 session for them. Things took a terrible turn.
For a while moments things looked very uncertain for mama and baby. Katie suffered an amniotic embolism and strokes. Her baby lost oxygen for several minutes. Many of you prayed alongside me for this mama and baby.
Today, I get to share a beautiful full-circle moment.
Mom is here! Baby is here! Both are healthy and thriving!
Sometimes we hear the word "miracle" so often that it loses its weight. But this is truly a miracle. Katie is not only miraculously alive, but she is walking, talking, caring for her baby as any loving mother would. Her baby has no brain damage and is developing just as he should!
Thank you all for your prayers. They were felt! And I got to witness and photograph the beautiful result of God's faithfulness.
The newborn photos in this post are more than just newborn photos to me. They are a reminder that every breath, every cuddle, every sleepless night, and every ordinary moment is a gift. They are a reminder that our God is The Healer!
What a joy it was to document this little one after such a difficult journey.
