You may know him as Andre Wright from Snowfall. Or Walter from Get Out. Or Granny from Tacoma FD. But before Hollywood, Marcus Henderson was a kid from Jennings, Missouri.

Henderson graduated from Jennings Senior High School in 2003 after playing football and running track. He earned a football scholarship to Alabama State before discovering his passion for acting and eventually earning his MFA from the Yale School of Drama.

His résumé would eventually include Django Unchained, Pete’s Dragon, Get Out, Snowfall, Juanita and Tacoma FD.

And he hasn’t forgotten Jennings. Henderson has returned to the school district and was inducted into the Jennings High School Hall of Fame.

Marcus Henderson got RANGE. Give that man his flowers. 💐🔥

🔥 ST. LOUIS HAS TALENT, AND CORNELL YOUNG IV IS SHOWING THE WORLD!

Born and raised on St. Louis’ north side, Cornell Young IV is turning heads with his role as Shaquille Johnson in Netflix’s A Different World.

Young attended schools in the Riverview Gardens School District before spending his junior and senior years at Kirkwood High School, where he played running back, wide receiver and cornerback.

Before A Different World, he appeared in two episodes of CBS’s Beyond the Gates. Now, he’s landed a role in Tyler Perry’s upcoming film Doing Life.

Young, who has a twin brother, is one of 7 children, says “To be able to touch somebody without even knowing them physically, especially through your art — it’s just such a blessing,”

The internet has fallen for our St. Louis nephew, and we love seeing more doors open for him! 👏🏽🎬
