This Is Ms. Nerd, my younger self. She has kooky whimsical glasses and a look that is definite and direct. I have learned to embrace all parts of me and to celebrate them on occasion. When we can accept our parts we embrace our heart. Hug your heart today and stand on your ground!

The Whale is featured in the LDJ exhibit "Revealed" currently showing at the Zuka Gallery in Old North St. Louis. He or she is swimming nonchalantly without a care in the world. My highlight is the fancy fish and surrounding area. Come take a peak and pass on to those who work with children.

Closing out Women's History Month determined to be all I can be... and to press thru until I get on the other side. 65 is a life turning, fully engaging milestone filled with peanuts and jelly beans, and all the penny candy that delighted my eyes at the age of 9. Each breath and step and memory on the dance floor brings a twinkle or two!

The Zuka Gallery on 14th Street and Montgomery in Old North is home to many talented artists in the St. Louis area. My hope is that these creative juices are shared and realized; and more people are exposed to everyday artists, storytellers, and cultural educators. Each one reach one.

Women’s History Month 2019... so many great things and great women. We are inventors, scholars, family matriarchs and entrepreneurs. We are jewels and queens.

There is something about conversations involving 🍑 peach cobblers. They are part of my history and culture. Artistically speaking I was taught by my great-grandma Sallie Walker Young. I had to lightly lay the peaches in the dish and handle the crust with care... the days in her kitchen were so dear and special. The green dish in the picture is hers and I bake everything in it. It has been in the family for more than 65 years. Well the secret is out now... the main ingredient in a great peach cobbler is 💗 LOVE!
