Lunar New Year 2027 Committee Applications Are Now Open!

As we begin planning for Lunar New Year 2027, Year of the Goat, we are excited to officially open committee applications to community members who are passionate about celebrating and preserving culture while helping create a meaningful event for Springfield.

This year, applicants may apply as a General Committee Member or for leadership roles including Co-Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer.

Applications close Sunday, May 31 at midnight.

Timeline:
• Interviews: May 25 through June 6
• Notifications: Week of June 14
• First committee meeting anticipated before July

Selected committee members will receive additional onboarding information, including participation expectations and required training opportunities that support our commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive event space.

Thank you ImpactLife for sponsoring our SOLD OUT Lunar New Year Event. Because of sponsorships, we were successfully able to bring Asian culture to central Illinois for all to experience and enjoy. 150 attendees, food from 5 local Asian restaurants, Lion Dance performance, traditional tea ceremony, performance by the Kota instrument, and much more. We were not able to do any of this without our sponsors.
