It was an immense honor to have welcomed award-winning author, sociologist, and educator, Dr. Karida L. Brown, to Springfield. Dr. Brown participated in a moderated conversation focusing on her incredible 2025 book, The Battle for the Black Mind.

Grateful to Crockett and Tonya Oaks of the Lincoln School Project for collaborating with us on this event. It is a joy and a privilege to work with The Lincoln School to develop events and create activities that bring meaning and opportunitites for growth to our collective communitites.

Thank you to The Story House Bookstore who showed up with enthusiasm, a beautiful display, and plenty of books for our attendees to purchase.

Heading home from the Lincoln School Project in West Plains reflecting on an evening of building community and connections.

An absolute treasure to hear from world renowned artist Charly Palmer and award winning author and sociologist Dr. Karida L. Brown.

Thank you to Crockett and Tonya Oaks and our friends at The Lincoln School for hosting a special evening highlighting art and the deeply meaningful contributions that artists and creatives make to our lives.
