Independent Theatre Company - Springfield, VA The Independent Theatre Company strives to produce great plays in a casual, collaborative, and conte
(1)

The talented young actors of the Independent Theatre Company put together creative productions of famous plays over the course of summer break. Our past summer productions include Shakespeare's Twelfth Night (2012), Romeo and Juliet (2013), Much Ado About Nothing (2014), Richard III (2015), A Midsummer Night's Dream (2016), Julius Caesar (2017), Henry IV (2018), Winter’s Tale (2019), and Twelfth

Night (2022), all performed in Springfield, VA. We operate with no budget and make no profits, instead collecting donations for Food For Others food pantry ministry. The audience for our most recent show gave nearly 300 pounds of food! We are a non-exclusive company and believe in giving every actor a chance to perform! Former cast members have come from over twenty different schools, ranged in age from 15-50 and majored in everything from Nuclear Engineering to Latin to Literature. Some have acted in professionally, some have never performed onstage before. Please 'like' this page to receive updates about future productions or performing opportunities!

Meet the cast of MACBETH (Zero-Budget Shakespeare), opening tonight! Today’s featured cast member is Megan Fraedrich!

Character: I play Lady Macduff (aka the 'lesser' Lady Mac in this play). She is a really stressed mom with no time for anyone's nonsense. I also co-directed the play with Wendy!

Some past productions/ roles: I've co-directed all 10 ITC summer shows! My favorite roles with ITC include Queen Margaret in Richard III, Mistress Quickly in Henry IV, and an interpretive dancing moon in Midsummer. Some favorite past performances elsewhere include Princess Kate in King Charles III, Henry Higgins in Pygmalion (Zoom edition), Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Adriana in The Comedy of Errors, Judge Brack in Hedda Gabler, Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing. I also directed YAM's zoom production of The Trail to Oregon and B&H’s Richard III!

About Megan: In addition to Shakespeare, I love musicals, zoos, museums, parks, trivia facts, memes, and tea parties. My inspiration in life and every performance I do is Tim Curry as Long John Silver in Muppet Treasure Island.

Favorite quote or moment from this play: "O full of scorpions is my mind, dear wife" because I feel that.

A fond memory: It was oddly inspiring to watch several of the actors in this show push another actor's car half a mile after it broke down. That's the beauty of teamwork!

The ingredient I'd contribute to the witches' cauldron would be: A handful of live crickets.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible! Macbeth has been my favorite Shakespeare play since I was a child and I've always wanted to direct it!

Meet the cast of MACBETH (Zero-Budget Shakespeare), opening tomorrow! Today’s featured cast member is Spencer Pilcher!

Character: Macbeth. At the start of the play; he's just the ambitious, yet loyal Thane of Glamis, but he has plenty of room to grow! He usually wants to do the right thing, but sometimes, his paranoia, ambition, and a certain external influence (*cough* Lady Macbeth *cough*) get the better of him.

Some past productions/ roles: Recently, I have been Gaston in Hope Theater's Beauty and the Beast, Matt in Montgomery Playhouse's Mr. Burns, Grandpa in YAM Productions's The Trail to Oregon!, and Duke Orsino in ITC's Twelfth Night. Other roles in the past that I have loved are Orcus in Montgomery Playhouse's She Kills Monsters, Richard III in Britches and Hose's Richard III, and Don Pedro in ITC's Much Ado About Nothing.

About Spencer: I'm a regular old humble guy with a great head of hair, a fantastic singing voice, and a wide breadth of interests. Did I already mention that I'm incredibly humble?

Favorite quote or moment from this play: It's hard to pick! But one of my favorite moments that I'm in is the monologue right after bidding farewell to Banquo at around the halfway point of the show. One of my favorite parts of the show that I'm NOT in is Macduff's big scene in England in the second half where he receives some particular news. If you know the show, you know the one.

A fond memory: Bri's (Seyton's) karaoke birthday party, where a number of the cast got to showcase their pipes. Oh, and that time when a handful of kind castmates helped me push my dead car to a parking lot after rehearsal!

The ingredient I'd contribute to the witches' cauldron would be: A ghost pepper, grown by an actual ghost!

Thank you to my girlfriend, Bri, for being as helpful as always through what has been a very busy and stressful few (several?) months. And thank everyone who comes to see this cozy little murder play! It wouldn't be theatre without y'all.

Come see Spencer and the rest of the cast of Macbeth on August 25-26 at Messiah United Methodist Church!

Meet the cast of MACBETH (Zero-Budget Shakespeare), opening in just 2 days! Today's featured cast member is Wendy Briggs, who is also the co-director and sound operator!

Character: Gentlewoman, a servant at Macbeth's palace. This was NOT the job she signed up for.

Some past productions/ roles: I've co-directed all ten ITC shows, and performed in several including Much Ado About Nothing (Hero), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Hermia), and Henry IV pt. 1 (Westmoreland and FRANCIS!!!). Other favorite shows and roles include Hay Fever (Jackie), All Together Now (Soloist), Comedy of Errors (Luce), Twelve Angry Women (Juror 11), and A Christmas Carol (Bob Cratchit). I'm also, ahem, friends with several princesses from Princess Parties of DC.

About Wendy: A writer who really should take a break and rest, but there's just too much fun stuff to do! I'm also a Gemini vegetarian.

Favorite quote or moment from this play: The sleepwalking scene! I'm so pumped to be playing the gentlewoman so I can be a part of it.

A fond memory: Walking up to my friend Megan in 2012 when she was visiting from college and saying "Hey, Megan, I want to put on a Shakespeare show this summer. Do you want to do it with me?" She said "Um, YES!"

The ingredient I'd contribute to the witches' cauldron would be: Pumpkin Spice

Thank you to Rachel, John, and Hannah for letting us rehearse in their house, Messiah UMC for providing a performance venue, Megan for co-directing, the cast for all their hard work, and YOU for reading this!

Come see Wendy and the rest of the cast of Macbeth on August 25-26 at Messiah United Methodist Church!

Meet the cast of MACBETH (Zero-Budget Shakespeare), opening in just 3 days! Today's featured cast member is Thomas Udlock!

Character: Ross, Scottish Lord and general lackey

Some past productions/ roles: Sandy Tyrell in Hay Fever with Globe Openstage, Cletus Jones in Trail to Oregon with YAM, and Aaron Kreifels in The Laramie Project with Sterling Playmakers

About Thomas: Thomas has so many hobbies, many of the creative variety, that he likes to say his main hobby is collecting hobbies.

Favorite quote or moment from this play: “Gentlemen, rise, his highness is not well.” *awkwardly attempts to leave*

A fond memory: I loved seeing all the creative “fights” Macbeth and Macduff would engage in before their combat was officially blocked.

The ingredient I'd contribute to the witches' cauldron would be: chocolate milk

Come see Thomas and the rest of the cast of Macbeth on August 25-26 at Messiah United Methodist Church!

Meet the cast of MACBETH (Zero-Budget Shakespeare), opening in just 4 days! Today's featured cast member is Rachael Dickson!

Character: 3rd Witch – A watery anti-Tudor witch up for causing mischief with her besties

Some past productions/ roles : Feste, Twelfth Night (ITC); Viola; Festette, Twelfth Night (B&H – 2011 and 2018); Ms. Stephens, Leader of the Opposition, Charles III (B&H); 2nd Witch, Macbeth (Globe Online)

About Rachael: Rachael is a law professor, a trademark fiend, cat lover, and over-user of semi-colons.

Favorite quote or moment from this play: The cauldron scene remains just an absolute classic – and watching Betsy throw an absolute laundry list of cauldron ingredients in one and after another is really really fun.

A fond memory: Grabbing a giant toad named Airfryer from Lady Macduff instead of a baby. (Also- Skeleton conga line).

The ingredient I'd contribute to the witches' cauldron would be: Four Loko

Shout-out to the cats for allowing us to rehearse in their basement!

Come see Rachael and the rest of the cast of Macbeth from August 25-26 at Messiah United Methodist Church!

Character: Lady Macbeth.

Past roles/ productions: Last seen.as the Artistic Director of Globe Openstage.

About Arielle: I'm considering renaming my three guinea pigs "the weird sisters."

Favorite quote from the play: Canst thou not minister to a mind diseased?

A fond memory: That time we turned around and Dead Banquo was spinning in his chair.

Come see Arielle and the rest of the cast of Macbeth on August 25-26 at Messiah United Methodist Church!

Meet the cast of MACBETH (Zero-Budget Shakespeare), opening in just 6 days! Today's featured player is Matthew Gaughan!

Character (and past role): Macduff, the Thane of Fife and a family man. Previously was Sir Andrew Aguecheek, a man who was adored once and only once.

About Matthew: I'm a software engineer who plays video games in my off time

Favorite quote or moment: From our abridged run of Act 5: "Macbeth, Macbeth, wherefore art thou, Macbeth?"

A fond memory: All of the sword fighting before it was blocked

I'd like to give a shout out to everyone in the cast for being able to put on this cursed Scottish Play!

Come see Matthew and the rest of the cast of Macbeth on August 25-26 at Messiah United Methodist Church!

08/17/2023

Meet the cast of MACBETH (Zero-Budget Shakespeare), opening in just 8 days! Today's featured player is Will MacLeod!

Character: Lennox, a Scottish noble

Some past productions/ roles: With ITC I've been in The Winter's Tale (Polixenes) and Twelfth Night (Sebastian). With other companies I've done too many things

A sentence or so about you: I've read every Discworld novel at least twice. That's basically all you need to know.

Favorite quote or moment from this play: Macbeth: "The time has been, that when the brains were out the man would die!" These darn Millennials. Now they're killing death. No one wants to die anymore!

A fond memory: I like every time Matthew (MacDuff) comes up with a different prop to use for [spoiler]'s severed head.

The ingredient I'd contribute to the witches' cauldron would be: Sass

Optional shout-out: I really hope my son isn't born in time to see this play, but if he is, I hope he enjoys his first Shakespeare

Come see Will and the rest of the cast of Macbeth on August 25-26 at Messiah United Methodist Church!

Meet the cast of MACBETH (Zero-Budget Shakespeare), opening in just 9 days! Today’s featured player is Jeff Elmore!

Character: Banquo, a general in King Duncan's army, Macbeth's best buddy, and Fleance's dad. By all accounts, he's a pretty stand-up dude.

Some past productions/ roles: Malvolio in Twelfth Night (ITC), Harry in Charles III (Globe Openstage) Buckingham in Richard III (B&H) Renfield in Dracula (LTA).

About Jeff: I am a reader, writer, actor, and by day an administrator of sorts for a number of academic journals. My favorite thing in the world is to commit to the bit.

Favorite quote or moment from this play: My second favorite thing in the world is a good sword fight, and though we are using knives, I'd say that still counts.

A fond memory: Almost a year ago, I got married to Megan, one of the directors, so it's gonna be pretty hard to top that. It involved a skeleton (thank you Rachael).

The ingredient I'd contribute to the witches' cauldron would be: Spit. I feel like they would ask for my blood, but spit's just as much a part of me.

Shout out to Megan and Wendy for their vision, Rachael/Hannah/John for granting us a rehearsal space, and anybody who comes to see the show!

Come see Jeff and the rest of the cast of Macbeth on August 25-26 at Messiah United Methodist Church!

About Andrew: An IT professional turned actor. Also dabbles in stage lighting design.

Favorite quote or moment from this play: "It persuades him, and disheartens him"

A fond memory: I always enjoy seeing what faces I can have Will make.

The ingredient I'd contribute to the witches' cauldron would be: A busted up old crown.

See Andrew and the rest of the cast of Macbeth at Messiah United Methodist Church on August 25-26!

Character: Second Witch, a witch who likes causing chaos and does so with enthusiasm

Some past productions/ roles: Cassius, Don John, Ghost of Diana, Titania, Olivia, Spirit, Wizard, Glendower (who's not a wizard but thinks he is) Poins, and others.

About Betsy: I live in Woodbridge with my fiance Marc and FOUR cats

Favorite quote or moment from this play: I'm a big fan of Lacy M's delivery of "ARE YOU A MAN?" When Macbeth is wiggin out at dinner.

A fond memory: Recently I was helping Relle get off book and she has a lot of lines that all pertain to the blood on her hand. Relle looked at her hand, blanked on a line and went with "....there's something on my hand."

The ingredient I'd contribute to the witches' cauldron would be: Beak of griffin

Shout out to Jean Claude Von Luc for his theatrical debut! (The toad) and to Marc for rolling with it when I brought home two new cats.

Come see Betsy and the cast of Macbeth on August 25-26 at Messiah United Methodist Church in Springfield!

08/13/2023

Meet the cast of MACBETH (Zero-Budget Shakespeare), opening in just 12 days! Today’s featured cast member is Sarah Elizabeth “Eliza” Souser!

Character: First Witch, who’s here to see what these silly humans who keep saying she’s ugly will do.

Some past productions/ roles: previously at ITC, I’ve been Olivia in Twelfth Night, Paulina in Winter’s Tale, Julius Caesar in Julius Caesar, Hippolyta/Mustardseed in Midsummer, and Poins in Henry 4 pt 1. Elsewhere I’ve stage managed Heidi Chronicles, been Dromio of Syracuse in Comedy of Errors, and was first witch in a different production of Mackers!

About Eliza: I have five things left to finish my museum in Animal Crossing New Horizons, too many crochet projects too little time, and in our rehearsal period alone I’ve made caramel brownies five times.

Favorite quote or moment from this play: I love watching Lady MacB during the banquet scene, so keep an eye out for that!!

A fond memory: Recently, I as a joke was about to do a RIP cross over Relle but stopped myself and had to lean down to say, “I was about to make a cross over you as a joke but then I remembered you’re Jewish” and we both laughed much harder than we should have and I started crying a little.

The ingredient I'd contribute to the witches' cauldron would be: I’m already bringing a toad but I don’t want him to get lonely so I would bring another frog so he has a friend.

Special thank yous to Hannah, Rachael and John for opening their house to rehearsals, Betsy and Rachael for being my partners in spooky, and to Ziggy for being an excellent witch’s companion, and to Akira for being my little thrice-mewling brindled cat!

Come see Eliza and the rest of the cast of Macbeth on August 25-26 at Messiah United Methodist Church!

08/12/2023

Meet the cast of MACBETH (Zero-Budget Shakespeare), opening in just 13 days! Today’s featured player is Courtney Washington!

Character: Malcolm, or as I have been naming him over the past few months, bean royalty.

Some past productions/ roles: Last year I played Maria in ITC's Twelfth Night, but this summer I also was both the prop master and foley artist for The SpongeBob Musical at Heart House Inclusive Productions!

About Courtney: Fun fact: Malcolm is actually the first male character I've played on stage since middle school! I'm used to cosplaying and voice acting princes though (mainly a certain detective prince), which I like to think helped me with this role. I hope it shows!

Favorite quote or moment from this play: The ending of 4.3 is super depressing, but Matthew Gaughan (Macduff) honestly slays it every time and I'm honored to perform that scene with him. Also that scene as a whole, as difficult as it is, is a great way to finish off a decade of friendship if you ask me! 😊

A fond memory: There is something oddly satisfying about a good old paper plate award. Yes they still exist, and yes I cried after getting one from ITC. Also, I should probably call out Matthew and all of the random props he's substituted for one plot important prop during rehearsals. And finally, “Get Macbent.”

The ingredient I'd contribute to the witches' cauldron: Am I the only person who'd want to put in actual food? Might be a waste of food but it'll at least make the spell delicious if they ever need to taste test it for some reason! I've eaten a lot of frozen custard lately, so let's go with that.

Thanks to ITC and HHIP for managing any schedule conflicts between Macbeth and The SpongeBob Musical. Also thank you Patsy, my car, for getting me to and from Springfield and Woodbridge for all of this summer's rehearsals and performances!

Meet the cast of ITC’s Macbeth, opening in just TWO WEEKS! Today’s featured cast member is Brianna Lau, who plays Seyton! It also happens to be her birthday today!

Character: Seyton

Some past productions/roles: Ensemble/Silly Girl (Beauty and the Beast, Hope Theater), Host/Performer/Producer (All Together Now!, YAM), Falstaff (Henry IV, Part 1, ITC), Brutus (Julius Caesar, ITC), Priest/Various (Twelfth Night, ITC)

About Bri: I am a middle school French teacher who enjoy dance, theatre, and puzzles.

Favorite quote or moment from this play: I like Macbeth's "this blow might be the be-all and the end-all" monologue.

A fond memory: Maryland Renaissance Festival with a bunch of cool cats last fall!

The ingredient I'd contribute to the witches' cauldron would be: rosemary

Come see Bri and the rest of the cast of Macbeth on August 25-26 at Messiah UMC!

Meet the cast of Twelfth Night, opening TOMORROW!

Character: Curio, one of Orsino's servants, who would really love it if his master would just get over Olivia already. But, more importantly, I'm also co-directing the show along with the incredible Megan Fraedrich.

Past productions: This is my ninth time co-directing for ITC (should be the eleventh but thanks, COVID), and eighth performing. Previous ITC roles include Westmoreland/Francis (Henry IV pt 1), Hermia (A Midsummer Night's Dream), Brackenbury (Richard III), and Hero (Much Ado About Nothing). Other favorite in-person roles include Peaseblossom (A Midsummer Night's Dream), Young Macduff (Macbeth), Fabian (Twelfth Night), Juror 11 (Twelve Angry Women), and Bob Cratchit (A Christmas Carol)

About me: Ten years ago, while zoning out during a particularly bad bout with senioritis during geosystems class, I started thinking about how much fun it would be to have a summer Shakespeare troupe. And the rest is history.

Favorite quote or moment from this play: "If this were played upon a stage now, I could condemn it as an improbable fiction."

A fond memory: Welcoming people to auditions for this year's production and watching them have fun with the sides. After two years, the magic of zero-budget Shakespeare was back!

If I were a type of clothing, I'd be: An apron. I wear one for work, I like to cook, and I'm also VERY prone to making mistakes!

Shoutout to all Independent Theatre Company performers and audiences, past and present, for helping make my stupid daydream into a not-so-stupid reality.

Meet the cast of Twelfth Night, opening in just 3 days! Today’s featured performer is Megan Fraedrich!

Role: I co-direct this play with Wendy, but I also play the small cameo role of a guard. This is especially fun for me because I've played Antonio in two productions of Twelfth Night, so now I get to be the guard who arrests him.

Past productions: I've co-directed all 8 past ITC shows with Wendy. Some recent virtual theatre roles include Henry Higgins in Pygmalion and Jack Worthing in The Importance of Being Earnest (both with Globe Openstage). I've also directed YAM's The Trail to Oregon, Globe Openstage's The Scarlet Pimpernel, and B&H's Richard III. Some favorite in-person theatre roles include Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Adriana in The Comedy of Errors, Judge Brack in Hedda Gabler, Mistress Quickly in Henry IV, and Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing.

About me: This is my fourth time doing Twelfth Night. I'm hoping that if I ever fill up my punch card up to and including a twelfth Twelfth Night, I'll get a coupon for a free small frozen yogurt or something. Also, this is not a real Oscar.

Favorite quote or moment from this play: Honestly, just making Jeff do ridiculous things wearing the yellow stockings and watching the other actors onstage trying not to laugh is my favorite part.

A fond memory: Going to the Renaissance Festival with castmates-- dressing up and geeking out about all the Shakespeare stuff there!

If I were a type of clothing, I'd be: A top hat, because I'm very theatrical, love to dress up, and am kind of old fashioned.

Thank you to the ENTIRE CAST for your flexibility and giving your time and talents for this zany show! It means a lot to me after this two-year hiatus!

Meet the cast of Twelfth Night, opening in just 4 days! Today’s featured actor is Matthew Gaughan!

Character: Sir Andrew Aguecheek, a rich man who definitely* gets girls and definitely* has dated a lot of girls definitely*.

Past productions: The Winter's Tale - Antigonus (the bear guy), Pride and Prejudice (staged reading) - Mr. Darcy, An Ideal Husband - Robert Chiltern

About me: Half my time is spent programming and the other half is theater, I'm very busy.

Fond memory: Using a cat toy in a swordfight

If I were a piece of clothing: I'd be a wig, it can be there and you won't notice it but as soon as it does anything you're like "Hey a wig!”

I'd like to shout out Wendy for adoring me.

*up to interpretation

Meet the cast of Twelfth Night, opening THIS FRIDAY! Today we’re featuring Courtney Washington!

Character: Maria— gentlewoman to Olivia, w***h to Toby, and troll to Malvolio.

Some past productions/ roles: Sour Kangaroo in Seussical (Encore), Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes (Oakton High School), and both Jack's Mother and Cinderella's Mother in Into the Woods (high school and college respectively). I also directed Swedish Fish and Dog Sees God in college and assistant directed Heathers The Musical at Dominion Stage.

About me: Musicals are my theatre passion. I actually haven't performed Shakespeare in over 15 years, but luckily Maria is the definition of my typecast so it's an easier transition for me! If I'm not on stage, I'm probably in my voice over booth, playing video games, or cosplaying at a convention somewhere.

Favorite quote or moment from this play: "Will thou set thy foot o' my neck?" Yup; that's Shakespeare. Haha!

A fond memory: I actually first truly found ITC through trivia, after going with one of my now best friends. Without Matthew, Wendy, and Matt, I probably wouldn't have been comfortable auditioning for Shakespeare at all, so special thanks to you three!

If I were a type of clothing, I'd be: jazz pants cause they're comfy, easy to move in, and a rehearsal staple of mine.

Thank you as always to my family and friends old and new for your support!

Meet the cast of Twelfth Night, opening in just 6 days! Today’s featured actor is Edward Zaynutdinov!

Character: Sir Toby, Olivia's drunken kinsman.

Some past productions/ roles: Algernon in The Importance of Being Earnest, Chuck in She Kills Monsters: Virtual Realms, Sir Andrew in a different Twelfth Night.

About me: I'm a Shakespeare nerd with a background in academia, and I'm in a punk band where I sometimes sing about my favorite Shakespeare plays.

Favorite quote or moment from this play: When Malvolio says "I am happy."

A fond memory: Playing games such as Jackbox, D&D, Magic: the Gathering, and of course, Johnga.

If I were a type of clothing, I'd be: A battle jacket: a leather jacket decorated with studs and spikes and painted with band logos.

Thank you to Rachael for welcoming us into your home and for allowing me to spend so much time with your cats.

Meet the cast of Twelfth Night, opening in just ONE WEEK! Today’s featured performer is Will MacLeod, who’s also appearing in NOVA Nightsky Theater’s production of As You Like It this weekend!

Character and who your character is: Sebastian, the twin of Viola that looks EXACTLY like her

Some past productions/ roles: Silvius in As You Like It; Polixenes in Winter’s Tale; Sir Toby in Twelfth Night (not this one); Bottom in Midsummer Night’s Dream

About me: I once spent an hour looking for headphones that turned out to be in my ears, through which I was listening to something. That about sums it up

Favorite quote or moment from this play: The entire Sir Toby, Sir Andrew, Maria party scene

A fond memory of cast mates: Staying at Busch Gardens all the way until it closed at midnight to rush around and do as many rides as possible in the closing hour

If I were a type of clothing, I'd be: A baggy pair of jeans with a natural rip in the knee

Shoutout to the lovely Ariana who I will always be ruled by (this makes more sense in the context of the show…)

Meet the cast of Twelfth Night, opening on August 19! Today’s featured cast member is Andrew Harasty!

Character: Antonio

Some past productions/ roles: Other Shakespeare have included -- Dogberry in Much Ado, Peter Quince in Midsummer, Polixenes in Winter's Tale, Audrey in As You Like It. As well as a few others. More modern work has been Pirelli in Sweeny Todd and Durdles in Edwin Drood. This is my first production with ITC and I am very excited to work with many of these people in person instead of just online.

About me: I am a defrocked IT professional who has started down his path of acting and preforming full time. I am also starting to do audiobook narrations.

Favorite quote or moment from this play: "I was adored once, too"

If I were a type of clothing, I'd be: A Hat. Or many hats. I have a odd collection and you can always find one for the right situation. Included picture one of my fancy hats.

Meet the cast of Twelfth Night, opening on August 19th! Today’s featured star is Rachael Dickson!

Character: Feste! Singer, fool, Olivia’s corrupter of words.

Some past productions:
ITC: Winter’s Tale (Bear/Emilia/Mopsa)
Globe Openstage: Macbeth (Witch), Charles III (Like 4 different parts)
Britches and Hose: Twelfth Night (Viola – 2011, Columbina – 2017), The Tempest (Antonio), She Stoops to Conquer (Kate Hardcastle), A Midsummer's Night's Dream (Helena).

About me:
I’m a Tudor history lover, bow-tied cat herder, corrupter of words (writer), and happy host to the Illyrians et. al. I’m also currently evolving into a law school teacher (my one word as a Pokemon will be “trademark? TRADEMARK!”). I once tweeted about Eliza’s friend’s cat and it got over 77,000 likes on Twitter.

Favorite quote or moment from this play:
I have too many favorite moments for me to name them all, but here are a few:
- Eliza’s cranky Olivia line “WELL. COME AGAIN TOMORROW” and the hilarious juxtaposition of her angry “RUDESBY BE GONE” with her soft loving words to Sebastian.
- Matthew’s little shriek and terrified jump as Sir Andrew when he sees Cesario and thinks he’s Sebastian.
- Jeff as Malvolio’s slightly terrifying/hilarious looming over Feste at the end of the show .

A fond memory: During the 2019 rehearsals for Winter’s Tale in my basement, all the ITCers (including many in Twelfth Night) were so incredibly loving and kind to my super-shy cat Schrodinger that it ended up really helping him conquer his social anxiety and fears. He sadly died in April 2022, but I truly believe that ITC therapy really helped make the last few years of his life a lot happier and more comfortable.

If I were a type of clothing, I'd be: something comfortable and cute, probably sparkly and covered in skulls.

Shout out - Thanks to everyone on the cast for playing with my cats during rehearsal, particularly the delightful but occasionally exhausting Akira Purrosawa.

Favorite quote or moment from this play: A quote from Viola (and specifically Betsy's delivery): "WHO does beguile you!? WHO does you wrong!?!?!?"

A fond memory: Giant Jenga (aka Johnga)

If I were a type of clothing, I'd be: Socks
