This joyous and rhythmic a ca****la setting of St. Augustine's text in a buoyant 7/8 meter is brimming with vitality and energy. The contrasting middle section offers expansive lines and lush harmonies which propel the music into exciting key changes and a climactic ending. A wonderful opening selection for more advanced mixed choirs!

"The Old Mill" by Kenneth Riggs

Rigg's intriguing setting of this poignant, reflective poem by Thomas Dunn English features an accompaniment that emulates flowing water and the turning of the mill wheel. Sign-up now for Springfield Chorale's inaugural event this summer! Our new choral ensemble is looking for choir loving high-school students to sing with us. If you're anything like our director, Ms. Anna Balchunas, you don't want May/June to be the last time you sing until August. Let us gather and celebrate the choral arts through community and song, representing a variety of cultures, styles, and eras. Local directors, this is also a wonderful opportunity for your students to continue engaging in music literacy skills.

Location: Messiah United Methodist Church

Rehearsals:
-July 5, 12, 19, 26 & Aug 2 (6-8:30 PM)
-Aug 5 (10 AM - 12 PM)
-Aug 6 (Concert @ 2 PM)

Springfield, VA has a new choral ensemble that is looking for choir loving high-school students to sing with us in our inaugural event this summer!

If you're anything like our director, Ms. Anna Balchunas, you don't want May/June to be the last time you sing until August. Let us gather and celebrate the choral arts through community and song, representing a variety of cultures, styles, and eras. Local directors, this is also a wonderful opportunity for your students to continue engaging in music literacy skills.
