Sometimes the simplest materials are all you need to bring an idea to life.

There’s something really cool about seeing an artist’s work stripped down to the basics. Between the pencil work and the watercolor, Evan still packs so much character and personality into each one, showing just how much he can create without needing a huge canvas or complicated setup.

This Saturday, September 19th, you can see even more from Evan at The Echo Collective during the Renaissance Rumpus! He’ll be here from 11 AM–4 PM, showcasing his work and working on one of his newest pieces live.

Hear ye, hear ye! A bladesmith joins the Renaissance Rumpus!

Stop by The Echo Collective Gallery to meet Harrison Clark and see the craftsmanship behind his handmade steel knives. Watch him work on a knife handle during one of his live demos, see his steelworking process, and ask the craftsman himself how each blade comes to life.

And should a blade catch your eye, Harrison will have handmade knives available during the event!

⚒️ Demos at 11 AM, 12:30 PM, 2 PM, 3:30 PM & 5 PM

Add Echo to your Renaissance Rumpus adventure and come see how a handmade blade goes from raw materials to something built to last.

Let's keep the excitement going with our second-ever monthly juried art show!

October's the perfect excuse to get a little spooky with "Retro Chills and Thrills -- A Classic Horror Art Show"

We’re looking for work inspired by the vintage, the classic, the old school horror and Halloween. Whether it's gothic tales, pulp magazines, Victorian oddities, witches, monsters, vampires, or an ode to Tim Curry.... anything that feels like it belongs in an old spooky story or reminds you of Halloween is fair game. Show us what makes Halloween creative and nostalgic for you!

As always, these juried shows are open to all artists in the Greater Houston Area, as well as current Echo Collective artists. We love how this allows us to bring new creatives into the gallery, explore new work, and build even more connections in the local art community. Come be a part of it with us!

🎨 Application Deadline: October 7th at 11:59 PM

🖼 Exhibition Dates: October 21st–31st, 2026

Evan Gillis ( ) has a way of making you wonder what story you just walked into.

There’s something about his work that makes you want to know more. His pieces are often built around stories and ideas that go beyond what you can see on the paper, making you wonder what led to the moment you’re looking at and where the story goes from there.

And the best part? You can actually ask the artist himself.

This Saturday, September 19th, Evan will be joining us at The Echo Collective during the Renaissance Rumpus! Stop by between 11 AM–4 PM to see more of his work, hear some of the stories behind it, and watch as he works on one of his newest pieces live!

Okay, we got something SUPER cool in at Echo.

We officially have a handmade sword hanging in the gallery!

This isn’t a premade blade that was simply decorated or customized afterward. The artist does the work from start to finish, including the steelwork that goes into creating the blade itself, before finishing all the details that turn it into the final piece you see here.

There’s something extra cool about being able to look at a finished piece like this and know just how much hands-on work went into making it.

Of course, we had to give it a proper spot on the wall—and getting it up there was an adventure of its own. 😂

Come by The Echo Collective in Old Town Spring and check it out in person along with the work from 30+ other local artist!

“Be Still” and “Do Not Worry” use texture, pattern, and muted color to keep the focus on the message without over complicating it. They have a worn, layered look that gives them a lot of character and depth.

Both pieces are by Stacey Bowden, ( ) and you can see them in person here at Echo Collective Gallery.

If you’d like to meet Stacey and see more of her work, she’ll be here for her Artist Meet & Greet on Saturday, September 12th from 11 AM–3 PM, working on her latest project.
