Next weekend I’ll be in the future doing one of my favorite things listening to Black girls & teaching them how to make poems out of all things swirling around in their souls.

If you think one day, you'll just be a famous writer you're in for a surprise.

It takes hard work, but the secret to putting it all together is mentoring.

A guiding light that develops you will help you gain insight to writing and encourage you to hone your craft.

But that mentorship doesn’t pop out of the sky.

Writers Well is the connecting factor for dozens of girls to get the mentoring and encouragement they need. Our facilitators all have careers as writers and performance artists and they mentor Writers Well Fellowship participants in their respective areas.

Each facilitator puts their heart in all they do to make sure each young writer has access to mentoring opportunities that weren’t available to them.
