WAYNE COUNTY SPEEDWAY OFFICIAL STATEMENT

Wayne County Speedway officials have completed a review of the on-track incident involving Kyle Moore and Brandon Morrow during the racing program on Saturday, August 29, 2026.

As part of that review, Speedway officials gathered information and spoke with witnesses regarding the incident.

Following that review, Wayne County Speedway has suspended Kyle Moore from competition for the remainder of the 2026 racing season. The suspension applies to all divisions and classes of competition at Wayne County Speedway.

Moore will also be placed on probation for the entirety of the 2027 racing season.

This action is being taken independently by Wayne County Speedway and is separate from any penalties, sanctions or other actions that may be imposed by UMP/DIRTcar or any other sanctioning body.

Wayne County Speedway’s decision is also separate and independent from any criminal investigation related to the incident. The Speedway will not comment on any ongoing criminal investigation.

We also recognize that Moore was permitted to continue competing in Saturday night’s racing program following the incident. After reviewing the circumstances and information available to us, we believe that was the wrong decision.

We take responsibility for that decision. We will learn from it and use this situation to improve how similar incidents are handled moving forward.

The safety of our competitors, crews, officials and fans remains a priority at Wayne County Speedway. We expect everyone participating in events at the Speedway to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with maintaining a safe environment for everyone involved.

Wayne County Speedway considers its review of this matter complete and will have no further comment at this time.

Carl Shorts Hillbilly Hundred weekend.

Zach Milbee would gain some points on second place Corey DeLacey after Saturday nights win. Corey's night would end early with a motor failure. Corey is working to get things back together for this weekend. Donnie Dotson has a strong hold on the third spot and is looking to make a move into the second position. We have a great battle for the 4th through seventh positions between, Joey Chamber, Michael McGinnis, Kristin Uhler and Thomas Baker.

We have a new Chew on this Jerky Rookie of the year leader, Karl Spoores takes the lead over Kyle Seaford, who is also have engine issues.

With 3 to 4 more races left on the year there is plenty of time for anyone to make a move.

— DIRT TRACK RACING !! —
I’ve been Flagging , Race Director, Promoter, and Announcer at these dirt tracks since August of 1991 .
It’s Crazy how time flies by , I’ll be 58 years old this year .. crazy !!!!

SO MANY awesome people (Hall of Famers) I have met and worked with in this industry is unbelievable .. RACING FAMILY ❤️

Want to thank three guys for being awesome mentors along the way . JACK SHUTTS who I looked up to for years , TODD GORRELL who’s been a great friend to me for many years, and KEITH DECKER who I thought was the best I ever saw back in the day . Those three guys made me want to be a flagman

My first opportunity was in the fall of 1991 . My brother Greg was racing at Midway Speedway one night and I thought he got a s**t call from the Flagman and I went straight down there and I gave promoter Elmo Keaton a 20 minute beat down of how his flagman sucked. lol !!!!
That week on like Wednesday night, I got a call from the promoter of Midway Speedway Elmo Keaton and he said , “If you think you can do it better, your hired !! get your ass up there and do it this Saturday night and show me how to do it “ and that was the beginning of it all for me ……
Man I made some serious mistakes along the way but I was determined to be the best I could be .

36 years later , I still love it and I love my racing family !!!!!
