One more project on the outdoor makeover list ✔️

Not the final reveal yet… this is the vision.

We’re planning to upgrade the garage doors, paint the trim black, and give the exterior a more modern look with cleaner lines and better contrast. It’s amazing how a few exterior updates can completely transform a home’s curb appeal.

Seeing the before next to the plan makes me even more excited to bring it to life. One project at a time, but it’s finally starting to look like the house I’ve been envisioning.

The fixtures are what make a bathroom feel designed not decorated.

We spent so much time on tile and paint, but honestly? The moment the plumbing fixtures went in, everything clicked. The shape of the spout, the weight of the handles, the way it all reads together that’s what gives a bathroom its personality.
My biggest tip: treat your fixtures like furniture.
The silhouette matters just as much as the finish.
I’m obsessed with this tub filler, and faucets.

A few things that helped us:

Choose your fixture style before your finish - the shape sets the whole tone
-Look for cohesion across every plumbing piece (tub, shower, sink)
-The fixtures you touch daily are worth the investment
-Pull inspiration from hotels, not just Pinterest boards
-The right fixtures don’t just complete a bathroom, they’re the whole vibe.

The rug completely changed this outdoor space.
Adding an outdoor area rug is one of the easiest ways to make a patio feel finished, cozy, and intentionally designed instead of just “furniture sitting outside.”

A few outdoor rug tips that actually matter before you buy one:

• Go bigger than you think. A too-small rug makes the whole space feel off balance.
• Make sure at least the front legs of your furniture sit on the rug.
• Choose a darker tone or textured pattern if you have kids, pets, or lots of foot traffic.
• Polypropylene rugs hold up best outdoors and are much easier to clean (this is it).

This was the next step in making our backyard feel more like an outdoor living room instead of just a patio. Still more to come.
