Excited doing comedy up here on the mountain at the Barrel Room with comedians Joe Praino and Chris Fairbanks tonight and Saturday night (both shows starts at 7:45pm) and then at the Laugh Factory Reno April 9 - 12 with Cory Baumgartner. Nice to laugh, ya know? ❤️

Just left Shirlee’s place and my head feels several pounds lighter Tahoe! I’ve been going to Hair by Shirlee as long as I’ve lived here (25 years now) 🙀 Most folks get their hair styled I’m guessing every 6 weeks? I prefer every other season. 😹 One thing’s for sure: I know Connie will like it! 😸

Happy birthday to Pauly Shore who turns 58 today. I've worked with him several times once in Reno and more recently in Las Vegas. I have to admit his stand up was pretty good. Not that I should sound surprised but I really had no idea what it'd be like and had only followed him through his movies that included Encino Man in 1992, Son in Law (1993), In the Army Now (1994) and Bio-Dome (1996). Shore provided the voice of Robert "Bobby" Zimuruski in A Goofy Movie (1995) and its direct-to-video sequel, An Extremely Goofy Movie (2000). I'll be honest the flicks weren't very memorable and I'll leave it at that. Describing Shore's performances in these films, film critic Roger Ebert wrote, "Shore bypasses all categories to achieve a kind of transcendent fingernails-on-the-blackboard effect." One movie I wish he had permission to do was that of playing fitness guru Richard Simmons. In January 2024, following a fan campaign, Shore revealed a teaser for a short film, starring himself as Richard Simmons titled The Court Jester. Simmons released a statement revealing that he did not give permission for the short. Too bad. Shore began as a stand-up comedian at the age of 17, before becoming an MTV VJ in 1989. He did direct a semi-autobiographical mockumentary film, Pauly Shore Is Dead (2003). I'm glad he's booked consistently doing stand up and glad I remembered his birthday today and wish him the very best.

He's been on my morning show, Howie's Morning Rush KRLT 93-9 Radio Lake Tahoe numerous times and is a great comedian: Ray Romano. Today's his birthday and wanted to give him a shout out from Tahoe. Ray's probably best known for his role as Raymond "Ray" Barone on the CBS sitcom, Everybody Loves Raymond (1996–2005), for which he won three Primetime Emmy Awards (one as an actor and two as producer). He's also known for being the voice of Manny in the Ice Age franchise. He has received several other awards including nominations for two Grammy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. I might add that Raymond is also one helluva golfer too. He's been a staple up here for years participating in the annual American Century Golf Championship. He and fellow comedian/actor Kevin James are not only best buds but Kevin is also an excellent golfer and the two play together when they can make the time. I enjoy playing his stand up on my morning show in part because I don't have to edit out any naughty words. Always nice wishing someone you like a happy birthday. 🎂🎂

If you’re out in the Chicago area there’s a fundraiser on November 22 to help my best bud Rocky LaPorte who was in a serious car accident a few months back. The event takes place in Frankfort, Illinois which is located approximately 35 miles southwest of Chicago in Will County. There’s also a GoFundMe account that Rock’s family set up too. Thanks in advance my comedy peeps. ❤️
