Mother Nature vs. Window Paint.

I want to show you something most people never see.

These photos are from a window I painted that looked BEAUTIFUL when finished. But after a strong thunderstorm rolled through before the paint had fully cured, this is what happened.

The rain and moisture got behind the paint.
The wind pushed water into the edges
and it literally lifted the paint right off the glass.

That was about 7 hours of work, gone.

This is exactly why I talk so much about needing multiple consecutive dry days before I start large window projects.

Window paint doesn’t “dry” like people think, it needs time to fully cure and bond to the glass. If heavy rain, wind, or storms hit too soon, it can ruin the entire piece.
Once the paint "cures" the window painting can last months somwtimes years!

I know when the sun is shining it looks like the perfect day to paint but I have to look ahead at the forecast to protect both my work and your investment.

I take a lot of pride in what I create, and I refuse to risk a job being destroyed by weather.

Thank you to everyone who understands and supports the process. ❤️

🌦️ A Little Michigan Weather Reality Check from the Painting Lady!

I’ve had quite a few people asking when I can start their windows and trust me, I am just as excited to get back out there as you are!

We’ve had a few teaser days of nice weather but unfortunately, that’s not enough for large window projects.

Here’s why ⬇️

🎨 Window paint needs time to CURE properly, that means I need at least 3 consecutive dry days (sometimes closer to 3½ for bigger jobs).

🌧️ Rain, fog, or even heavy moisture can:
Cause paint to lift or streak.
Ruin fresh work overnight• Force me to redo entire sections or windows.

🌡️ Temps matter too. If it’s too cold, the paint doesn’t bond correctly to the glass.

💨 Wind & sudden weather shifts: Michigan loves to keep us on our toes and one surprise storm can undo hours of work.

What I’m watching for:
3+ dry days in a row.
Temps consistently above freezing. Low moisture (no fog/drizzle).

As soon as I see a good weather window days, I start scheduling my bigger jobs like Country House and more!

I truly appreciate your patience because when I paint your windows, I want them to be bright, bold, and lasting, not washed away the next morning.

And don’t worry the moment Mother Nature cooperates, I’ll be back out there turning ordinary windows into art!

Thank you for your patience!
