Hey y'all! The discussion last week went off wonderfully! Thank you to those who could make it. Each of the participants had something very profound to contribute to the discussion. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, feelings and experiences about racism and bias. I can only hope that discussions like this continue to be had in and outside of classrooms and events. Simply talking about the issue at hand can cultivate and motivate ideas and movements to try and solve it. This is the first step of many to bring the community and the country at large together. As it is important to be able to discuss this, it is equally necessary to understand the experiences and emotions of others. Without understanding and those willing to listen, no one will be able hear the issue and how it can be solved.

I really am a blessed young man to be notice on such an event as I was yesterday. I thank God for letting me experience this. The 7th Annual African American Ball was amazing to say the least, and the awards and awardees were even more so! I want to thank my parents and the rest of my family for giving me the support and the guidance I needed to bring my work to the forefront in the community. I also am thankful for my mentor and teacher Barrington Edwards as well as the rest of Boston Arts Academy for giving me the know-how to actually get Pieces 4 Peace off the ground. And lastly, but certainly not least, I am extremely thankful for the support of Pastor and First Lady Dickerson and the Greater Love Tabernacle congregation for their support and involvement. With all of you by my side, I was not only able to bring something peaceful and positive to the community, but I WILL be able to do so much more for the community! So Thank You all!
