Michael Scott Bates Music Michael Scott Bates blends country gospel, Americana, blues-rock, and atmospheric folk.

Driven by organic instruments, harmonies, slide guitar, and storytelling, his music carries a warm, rootsy sound with subtle spiritual depth and cinematic reach. Michael Scott Bates is a one man band who brings a fresh feel to a clashing of genres. Lush with addictive guitar hooks, soulful vocal approaches, and plenty of pop undertones with the use of looping and vocal effects, he is entirely self-produced and a true southern soul.

My album from 2018, "It Began with a Bang" is finally set to re-release on May 29th! It was taken down 2 years ago for apparently being, "too good.." Just kidding. It was my best work at the time but wait till you hear what I'm working on now. Finally recording again after 5 years of silence. MSB is back!
