Quick reminder that we will close the restaurant at 2pm to set up and prepare for our sold out New Years Eve celebration. Doors will open at 7 to start the festivities and the live music will start at 8:30. This year Larry Wilson will be joined by guests Jeff Haney and Mandy McMillian. Get ready to eat, drink, and dance the new year in at the Fat Cat.
Who's hungry for some brunch? Today we are having our first Boxing Day Brunch at the Fat Cat. Our staff is busy preparing some heavenly breakfast treats and are setting up a Bloody Mary/Mimosa Bar to help keep the holidays extra happy. The fun starts at 11 and will go on til 4. If you love gourmet breakfast but love sleeping in late even more, this is the day for you. See you in a bit!

Just wanted to let everyone know that we will be open for our regular hours (11-9 Wednesday/Thursday, 11-10 Friday) but will be closed all day Saturday Christmas Eve. We will keep an eye on the weather as the Siberian Cold front moves in later this week and keep you informed if anything changes. We have some fun things going on next week so follow us and stay tuned.

We are making final reservations for our New Years Eve party and now have a few spots open as some folks have had to changes plans. The event includes a 5 course meal (including black eyed peas and cabbage at midnight) a champagne toast, music with Larry Wilson and Jeff Haney, party favors, and confetti. This Saturday Nite is our first 80s Dance Party. If you wanted a haircut like Flock of Seagulls, talked like a Valley Girl, saved every quarter for the arcade, or just sat glued to MTV, then this is the party for you.
To get everyone in the spirit, I want you all to comment with your favorite 80s song. I'll add them to our playlist for the night. Come and Dance or just hang out and soak up the nostalgia.
Unfortunately due to the illness of our co-presenter, the Olfactorium will be postponed tonight and rescheduled for January. More details about the rescheduled date will be posted soon.

Huge day in Smithville today. We have the annual Sip and Shop wine event from 2-6 on Main St. We have Bluegrass trio SugarTree Band giving a free concert at the Fat Cat from 2-4. Finally national touring band Selfless Lovers will play an energetic danceable set at 7-9. Nik Parr and the band play a lot of 50s inspired original rock songs with piano and saxophone. They also play some funky 70s rock with a Stones meets uptempo Springsteen vibe. This is such a fun event to cap off another wonderful Holiday evening in Smithville. Get tickets now.

Had a wonderful treat when friends and Country Artists Max and Brittany Flinn stopped by after a charity gig nearby and gave us a 5 song mini concert after hours on Saturday Night. This is a bit of their song "One of These Days". We hope we can get them back soon for everyone else to hear.

This Friday we have a treat as Singer/ Songwriter Wayne Sutton teams up with his good friend Producer/Musician Bill Palmer for an Aciustic Duo Set at the Fat Cat. Wayne was in the 90s group Sister 7 with Patrice Pike. Bill Plamer in addition to being highly sought after music producer has been playing for decades in such groups as The Sharecroppers, The TV Killers, and Hundred Year Flood. They have recorded dozens of records between them including Wayne's Newest record "Blue Worm". Come hear these two troubadours as they deliver an intimate acoustic set of heartfelt passionate original songs.

This will be an incredible show plus it is also our annual Halloween party with a costume contest. Its also the last day for German Food and Oktoberfest.
