I Couldn’t Wait!

My newest series is called “Let’s Eat Pie,” and I just had to share the very first painting with y’all!

This one is a sweet, juicy Strawberry Pie—full of bright color and summertime goodness.

Now I have to know… what’s your favorite pie?

A Day in the Life of an Artist 🎨✨

Today looked a little something like this…

✔️ Day 2 of canvas prep for an upcoming series.
✔️ Giving my Tabasco Sauce painting a refresh with a new background color that really makes it pop!
✔️ Finishing and signing the very first painting in the new series. (Always one of my favorite moments!)
✔️ An afternoon snack of fresh pesto on a slice of Herbed Parmesan Bread from Poplar Head Farmers Market. So good!
✔️ And next up… creating new art cards.

Some days are all about painting, and other days are a mix of prep work, finishing touches, good food, and a little creativity in between. That’s the beautiful chaos of an artist’s life!

✨ Proof that art doesn’t have to cost a fortune to bring you joy.

Y’all, a piece of art doesn’t have to be expensive, but it does need to make you smile.

This little cutie checks all the boxes. It’s bright, cheerful, and painted by one of my favorite local artists. I actually sat and chatted with her while she painted a whole series of these, and when she later posted them for just $10 each, I immediately claimed this one.

It’s an 8x8 painting, and I paired it with a thrifted frame that cost me all of 50 cents. A little Rub ’n Buff transformed the frame from plain white to gold, and now it looks like a million bucks.

Total investment? $10.50.

The smile it brings me every day? Priceless.

Art doesn’t have to be a major purchase to make a major impact. Buy the art. Support local artists. Fill your home with things that make you happy. ❤️

I forgot to take a picture of my giant Tomato Sandwich painting… but I didn’t forget to give my wall a glow-up!

What if trees grew macarons instead of leaves?

My newest painting, “Confection Botanica,” is headed to the Garden District of Good & Evil art show at The Velvet this Friday, June 5, from 5:30–8:30 PM.

This whimsical piece is a playful mashup of a tree limb, leafy branches, and colorful macarons. A confection tree? Absolutely. Sometimes the best ideas come from asking, “What if?”

If you love art with a touch of imagination, you’ll want to see this one in person.

It’s also First Friday, so come stroll through the gallery, meet The Velvet artists, and explore work from many talented local artists joining the show.
