If you are part of the SFSD, you may have noticed that they have communicated 3x in the past month about illnesses rampant in the district. From the “quad-demic” (Flu, Covid, RSV, and Adenovirus), to Croup, Whooping Cough, and "other" viruses, the community's families have been hit harder this winter than most.

Like SFSD, I would like to remind you to please keep your child home if they aren't feeling well. If they are somewhere in the margin of not feeling great or "meh", please consider having them mask up for class.

RDMC prides itself on small classes and individual attention. With that comes the risk of canceling classes if too many people call out sick. We will schedule a makeup class at a later date if this happens. I know this isn't ideal for anyone, but we are doing our best to avoid spreading sickness. We diligently wipe surfaces with Chlorox Wipes to do our part, but that can't control airborne germs, so please remind your kiddos to cover coughs and sneezes and wash hands often.

Heaven gained another angel. 👼🏾 One of our Nutcracker cast members has crossed into the light. ✨🌈☁️🌼

Louise Biffle was in our first Community Nutcracker cast as a Party Parent. She was pure joy, helpful, and enthusiast, and made many friends fast. I know I became a fan of hers right away.

Please join me and others who loved her on Friday, ad we celebrate her life. All are welcome! We would love to see some cast members there.

It’s Black History Month! What better way to educate than through dance? There are so many important people and influences on dance from POC. This month, each class will receive a short lecture and video on Black dance history. I think they will find it interesting and fun!

I have been advertising for over a year; my plan is to start a Shakespeare in the Park event this summer (2025) with A Midsummer Night's Dream. Auditions scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 15th. However....

Now that the time has come for auditions, IT MAY NOT HAPPEN IF WE DON'T GET FINANCIAL SUPPORT from the community!

Doing an event like this costs a LOT of money. The City requires that we provide portable potties and sinks. We will also need a stage or flat surface of some kind, a sound system, wig mics, costumes, and so much more. It will cost (similarily to our Community Nutcracker) around $5K to produce. The goal is for the money made from this event to pay for the majority of next year's event in an effort to make it an annual thing.

When I started the Nutcracker, I paid for it out of my own pocket to start with, and over the years, the previous show paid for the next one; it is NOT a "get rich scheme", it's a personal sacrifice. That is not something I can do for this one.

I know many people want this to happen! But we need sponsors from both individuals and businesses to do so!

HOW CAN YOU HELP? As an individual, you can donate, or if you work for a company that might want to sponsor, please ask on our behalf!

Anyone who financially supports this event will be given credit for it in the programs and advertising, so it's not a thankless gift.
Please contact me directly if you are interested in donating to this event!

If we don't get the financial support we need, the auditions that are scheduled for February 15th may be canceled.

Reminder! As inclement weather is among us, RDMC follows the SFSD cancellations for snow and ice conditions. However, if snow or ice occurs after school hours, we will notify everyone via text. As always, if you don’t feel safe driving, don’t. If you are unable to come to class, please let us know asap. Safety is our number one priority!! Be safe.
