We're less than 2 weeks away from opening night!

Tri-Town Theatre opens our production of COME FROM AWAY on the 25th Anniversary of September 11th, as a nod to how this true story began.

This is a 100 minute one-act show that blends traditional Celtic, Irish folk, and contemporary rock -- infused with elements of country and traditional Newfoundland music! These songs will be stuck in your head and heart for many days to follow.

Nick & Diane met after being on the same diverted flight. They spent time together over several days in Newfoundland, and fell for each other quickly. There are lots of fun real-life details about their love story depicted in the show, but we hope you'll come see it for yourself!

If you haven't heard of the musical COME FROM AWAY, here's a little bit of context!

Although this specific story exists due to the events of September 11th, 2001, this musical isn't actually about that day. It's about what happens in response over the next 5 days and beyond. It's about the locals in Gander Newfoundland and the passengers and flight crews from the 38 planes that were diverted. It's about humanity and compassion, and what it looks like to come together in the face of tragedy, and the way that impacts all of us differently.

We’re always pretty proud of how hard our team works on our productions, but this effort has been monumental from everyone and we cannot wait to share it with our family, friends, and community. Come From Away is based on the true story of the time when the isolated community of Gander, Newfoundland, played host to the world. What started as an average day in a small town turned into an international sleepover, when 38 planes, carrying thousands of people from around the globe, were diverted to Gander’s airstrip on September 11, 2001. Undaunted by culture clashes and language barriers, the people of Gander cheered the stranded travelers with music, an open bar and the recognition that we’re all part of a global family.

We will be announcing our 2027 Teen Summer Intensive soon, and, after that, our Spring 2028 production announcement won’t be far behind!
