Norwela Woggle Machine Proudly Announces the All-New Woggle Merit Badge
Shreveport, LA — After generations of Scouts tying, trading, collecting, and occasionally overcomplicating neckerchief slides far beyond all reasonable necessity, Norwela Woggle Machine is proud to announce the debut of the long-awaited Woggle Merit Badge.
This historic and entirely-too-exciting new badge recognizes Scouts who have demonstrated excellence in the ancient and noble craft of the woggle — specifically, the creation, appreciation, and enthusiastic overuse of the Turk’s head knot neckerchief slide.
The badge design features a classic paracord Turk’s head woggle securing a purple neckerchief with gold trim, honoring both tradition and the universal truth that a really good woggle makes every uniform at least 37% cooler.
Requirements May Include:
Correctly identifying the difference between a woggle, a slide, and “that knot thing.”
Tying a Turk’s head knot without crying, quitting, or accidentally inventing a new category of rope monster.
Explaining to at least three people why paracord colors absolutely matter.
Wearing a handmade woggle with enough confidence to answer the question, “Did you make that?” at least twelve times.
“Scouts have earned badges for basketry, leatherwork, and sculpture,” said a totally real and highly qualified spokesperson for Norwela Woggle Machine. “It was only a matter of time before neckwear engineering got the recognition it deserves.”
Coming Soon:
Norwela Woggle Machine is also rumored to be developing additional highly necessary recognitions, including:
Advanced Neckerchief Deployment
Decorative Rope Sorcery
Emergency Campfire Lanyard Systems
Applied Slide Technology
Scouts, Scouters, and knot nerds alike are encouraged to celebrate this groundbreaking achievement in unofficial excellence by proudly displaying the new badge wherever imaginary merit badges are honored.
