Instructor: Pearl Lui is a local New Jersey artist and modern calligrapher. She holds a Natural Science Illustration certificate from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and a Botanical Illustration Certificate from the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE). She is a member of International Association of Master Penmen, Engrossers and Teachers of Handwriting (IAMPETH), Society of Scribes NYC, The National Association of Women Artists (NAWA), and Guild of Natural Science Illustrators (GNSI).

Specializing in Botanical & Wildlife Painting and Modern Calligraphy, she blends expressive strokes, scientific observation, and a whimsical touch. She now invites others to slow down through her art, greeting cards, and workshops.

The “Life Lessons from Bumblebees” collection is now live!

Each slide was a step in this collection. Prior to this collection, I put together numerous entomological studies of the Common Eastern Bumblebees. I also researched the history and origins of the anemones which led to many color studies. Through a process of sculpting miniature paintings with my brush, I gained confidence to create large scale paintings!

This was my first featured collection at a curated show and I am so grateful for the opportunity to share my love for bees. 🐝 I once thought they were a feared nuisance, and have now discovered their story and plight.
