Happy Friday! I have been collecting conversations in my journals and this was one of them with a curious buddy.
While I love recording notes for scientific illustration purposes, I have found myself nature journaling purely to capture small observations and moments.
This seagull stood by me for at least ten minutes. Sometimes it watched me paint and other times it turned back to the beach to see what its buddies were doing at the shoreline.
At one point it came very close, for which I’m guessing, to inspect my bag for food. So I said out loud to it that “I have nothing to eat”. I happen to be recording and it gave me a disappointed face and turned its back on me! 🤭 I felt so bad but also I know it’s important not to feed wildlife and leave them the way I found them.
But through this interaction I truly believe that animals understand everything humans say and do! 😅
