BTS: A/C Replacement

Everybody sees the pretty setups, the candles glowing, the luxury tablescapes, the champagne pours and the packed event, but nobody talks about this part of business ownership.

Sitting in my venue while the HVAC company replaces the entire air conditioning unit because if the air goes out, the events stop too. šŸ˜…šŸ˜

This is the side of entrepreneurship people don’t post enough:
āœ”ļø Unexpected expenses
āœ”ļø Maintenance bills
āœ”ļø Emergency repairs
āœ”ļø Constant reinvestment back into the business

And then people get upset when prices increase…
…but how do you think we recoup these costs?

The same venue you want ice cold in July.
The same clean bathrooms.
The same beautiful experience.
The same functioning space you expect when you walk in the door.

None of that maintains itself.

There’s nothing glamorous about writing checks for things nobody will ever notice…
until they stop working.

Real ownership is responsibility.
Real ownership is sacrifice.
Real ownership is figuring it out in real time while still showing up professionally for your clients.

So yes…support small businesses.
And understand that pricing is often survival, not greed.

Still grateful though.
Because even on the hard days, this dream belongs to ME. 🩷

There’s something people don’t talk about enough...
what it feels like to outgrow something you once prayed for.

Event planning gave me so much. It built my confidence, my creativity, my reputation, my relationships.
It taught me how to lead, how to pivot, how to create magic from nothing. But somewhere along the way, I realized, I didn’t just want to plan events anymore.
I wanted to own the experience.

So I made a decision—one that felt scary, exciting, and necessary - This is my last year as an event planner! I’m transitioning from full-time event planner to fully stepping into being a venue owner!šŸŽ‰

Not just running a space, but building something that creates opportunity, income, and impact beyond me.
This is about ownership.
This is about legacy.
This is about thinking bigger.
I’ll still plan, but only within my venue.
More intention. More alignment. More control.

And honestly? It feels like I’m finally walking into the next level of what I’ve been building all along.

Cheers to evolution. šŸ„‚

Good morning good people!!!

Life has been… life-ing lately.
I took a step back from social media to process some real moments—losing a friend to cancer and navigating my family moving back to North Carolina. My recent speaking engagements at Loyola University....My heart has been full… and heavy at the same time.
But one thing I know for sure—life keeps moving, and so do we.
I’m easing my way back in, giving myself grace, and choosing to move forward with intention, love, and a whole lot of gratitude.
If you’re in a season where life feels like a lot… I feel you. šŸ¤
And I’m still here… creating, building, and showing up—just in a softer, more intentional way.
