Happy Sunday everybody!🦎
It was been a while since we last posted (May 6!) and would like to update you all on how things are going over here at Scales For Success! Follow along if you’d like to hear how things are going! 📥📥
Addressing our largest update first, we have unfortunately lost a couple animals since our last posting.
Mica (our male beta fish) developed dropsy, a condition characterized by fluid build up in the body. Beta fish are very prone to dropsy and though sometimes treatable, will always reoccur. We made the decision to humanely euthanize Mica after his condition seemed to make no improvement.
Additionally, we lost Mushu, our female gargoyle gecko. Mushu became egg bound after laying the first egg of a clutch, causing her to prolapse. She was taken to an exotic vet where she was diagnosed. Given our options, we made the difficult decision to humanely euthanize Mushu as it would be in her best interest.
We will miss them both dearly 🤍
On a brighter note, the rest of our animals are doing great! 🐍
Fuego has grown to be 5’6, recently received a tank upgrade, and is eating wonderfully! 🐁
Buster has been enjoying his usual, laidback lifestyle. Most days, he can be found basking in the warmth of his heat lamp or taking a quick snooze 💤
Finally, Toast is STILL in her hunger strike! We are trying everything we can to convince her the rats are a tasty meal (though we may not think so ourselves 👀). Otherwise, she is drinking and active during the darkest hours of the night!
