Looking back on this summer, I am incredibly grateful for every single opportunity this title has given me to serve, meet people, and be a part of the community I love so dearly.

It has always been a dream of mine to serve as Miss Shelby County. Not only because I’ve looked up to every Miss Shelby County who came before me, but because of the incredible community that welcomes each year’s queen with open arms and makes her a part of its traditions, celebrations, and everyday life.

This summer has truly been one to remember. From county fairs and parades to fish fries, pageants, community events, and countless conversations with the people who make Shelby County so special, I have felt so incredibly loved and supported.

I know you folks are probably tired of hearing me talk about how much I love being your Fair Queen… but I genuinely cannot stress it enough. ❤️

Today, I’m off to college. As excited as I am for this next chapter, I know I’ll feel a little pull in my heart as I leave my community behind. But don’t worry, you can’t get rid of me that easily! I’ll be back, I’ll be around, and I’ll continue serving whenever I can.

So, that’s a wrap on the summer of 2026! Thank you, Shelby County, for making this one of the most special summers of my life.

With love, always,

👑 Miss Shelby County

Introducing our court!! Miss Shelby County Fair Queen: Farah Coen

Hello! My name is Farah Coen, and I am your 2026 Miss Shelby County. I am extremely honored to be serving my favorite people! I also forgot that I never introduced myself, even though I introduced my court, so I apologize for the delayed post!

A little bit about me: I’ve grown up on a farm my whole life, recently celebrating the 200-year anniversary of our family farm. I have always cherished the meaning behind hard work and dedication, shown by my great-grandparents and my grandfather on the farm.

I’m a recent graduate of Triton Central High School, and while in high school, I was involved in many clubs and sports. My favorite sport was wrestling, and my favorite club had to be Student Council, where I served as student body president as well as class president.

This fall, I will be attending Miami University in Ohio, where I’ll be majoring in mechanical engineering and minoring in political science. While in undergrad, I’ll also be serving in the National Guard and participating in ROTC. I hope these experiences will eventually lead me to law school to become a JAG, and later, a patent attorney. I also have a long-term goal of serving in public office someday.

I absolutely love my county and the fair. Shelby County runs in my veins, going back nine generations. Something I believe we all take for granted is community, especially one that fights for what they believe in and creates spaces where people can come together and enjoy things. That’s something so great about Shelby County.

Thank you, Shelby County, for always being a light in my life. I hope to be a light in yours as I serve as your queen.

Fair Week Highlight: My favorite part about the 2026 Shelby County Fair can’t be narrowed down to one moment or event. I would have to say that my fair week highlight was getting smiles from people I had never met before and having anyone I encountered be so kind.

I also really enjoyed talking to young kids who asked to take photos, tried on the tiara, or maybe just waved and then hid behind their parents. The highlight of our fair is our people.

Hello, everyone!

I wanted to share a moment from a few weeks ago that has stayed with me.

While visiting a neighboring county fair, I met a young boy wearing headphones who was taking in the excitement of the fair in his own way. I introduced myself to him and spoke with his mom, who shared that he was autistic and nonverbal.

As we stood there together, I held his hands, let him feel my tiara, and simply met him where he was. We didn’t need words to connect. His smile, his curiosity, and the quiet trust in that moment reminded me that kindness speaks a language everyone can understand.

His mom’s smile is something I’ll never forget. It reminded me that sometimes the most meaningful thing we can offer another person is our time, our patience, and the willingness to make them feel seen.

One of the greatest privileges of serving as Shelby County Fair Queen has been meeting people from all walks of life. Every person has a story worth hearing, gifts worth celebrating, and a desire to be understood.

Moments like this remind me that compassion has no barriers. We are unbound by the spoken word. We may communicate differently, come from different places, or experience the world in different ways, but we all deserve to feel valued, included, and loved.

Isn’t it incredible how beautifully unique each of us is? Our differences don’t divide us, they give us the opportunity to learn from one another and to make this world a little kinder, one conversation at a time. ❤️

I invite everyone to share a story about a time someone made your day a little brighter, or maybe just a kind message for others.

Introducing our court!! Second runner-up: Maddie Huntsman
Hi! I'm Maddie Huntsman and I'm your second runner up and thanks to all of you I had so much fun at the Shelby County Fair! I grew up at the fair whether it was turning in projects riding rides, showing sheep, or just hanging out with my friends and family I've always had the best time and being on court made it even better! I work at Girls Inc. and was so thankful to be able to bring my court to the girls I get to see everyday. I love helping out with the local youth, so being able to see all the kids I work with was so rewarding! Apart from the fair, my favorite things are 4-H, FFA, going on vacation and hanging out with my friends and family. Thank you so much Shelby County!

Fair week highlight: My highlight of the week was Wednesday! It may have rained but our outfits were so fun to make, we got to catch the birds and the monster truck ride was the best! It was such a memorable experience!
