54 years of teaching dance! On June 19, 1972 I led my first dance class by myself. That summer, my dance teacher gave me the opportunity to teach at YMCA and Johnson County Parks & Rec. I was only 14 years old, but they thought I was 18 (no checking in those days, I guess.) It was the best experience because I had 45 students in one class of 3-5 year olds 😳. I learned quickly how to gain control of a class and actually get something accomplished! I taught those programs for the next 3 summers. That was when I knew what I wanted to do in life. I'm thankful that I'm still able to do it! FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS!

So grateful to have been able to keep track of these fabulous Seniors this year, as I've had them since they were wee l'il dancers. Thank you to Mr. Alex and his staff at Limelight Academy of Performing Arts for welcoming me in for visits and catch ups this first year of semi-retirement. I'm also grateful for many other former students that kept me up to date with their dance journeys. I love opening emails to pics and updates. Keep them coming!! Congratulations, Grads, proud of you! 🥰❤️
