I had fabulous weekend at Indigo Fire Studio in Watertown attending a workshop by Deb Schwartzkopf
Deb is incredibly talented, very creative, a wonderful teacher and presenter. There was a buzz of great energy Saturday and Sunday. I really enjoyed working alongside some other great potters and teachers who like me enjoyed being the student for a change playing with clay.
So many thoughts, ideas and inspirations.
I’m energized. Thank you Deb.

Summer sunflowers from my garden.
The vase I made by combining a pot I made on the wheel and freeform hand building the base. It took on a figure form so I gave it a slip pearl necklace.

Summer Dinner.
Recipe: Start with a Lizanne Handmade Platter.
Drizzle olive oil, balsamic vinegar, crushed pepper and fresh squeezed lime juice.
Layer ribbons of yellow squash (cut with a veggie pealer), ribbons of zucchini or cucumber. Next Hami melon balls, you can use cantaloupe, honeydew or watermelon.
Spread fresh basil leaves over the zucchini.Sprinkle a layer of feta cheese on top. Next some folds of prosciutto. Then Some crushed pistachios, Drizzle more olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Serve with crusty warm bread.

Q. Which came first the flowers or the vase?
A. The vase.
But while making the vase I thought about flowers I will put in the vase. If you grow Zinnias you know they come in all lengths, tall & short.
This vase works for my zinnias. Makes me happy 😊
