Welcome to Fine Points! Established in 1985, our shop has been a pillar of the crafting community for over 40 years. The owner, Liz Tekus, is a collector and curator of specialty yarns, handmade buttons, and hand-dyed skeins. We are proud to carry fan favorite yarns such as Noro, Rowan, and Malabrigo, while also featuring Madeline Tosh, and local dyers such as Spinning Loft, 1918 Yarn Company, and Open Studio.

Fine Points is nestled in the charming neighborhood of Larchmere on the east side of Cleveland, which is home to one of largest concentrations of Black-owned and family-owned businesses in Cleveland. While in the neighborhood, we highly recommend patronising the other shops on our street, visiting Loganberry Books, picking up a pastry at HoneyBirch Bakehouse, eating dinner at the incredible Brazilian restaurant, Batuqui, and purchasing some Golden Milk Drink Blend from Adun Spice Co.

Regarding Parking and Accessibility:
There is a parking lot with ample spots (and one accessible spot) to the left of our shop as well as street parking available. The entire store is ground level with no steps to enter the shop. The door does not have an automatic door opener but if you call our shop (216) 229-6644 ) we will be happy to open the door for you. An accessible bathroom is available for all!

Black Locust Farm: A big yarn shop in a small village.

"Yarn ju**ie" Cathy Kaltenbach has been knitting since age 9 and began spinning as a teenager. Black Locust Farm began in 2002 when Trooper, Cathy’s German Shepherd, asked for sheep for his birthday. First there was wool, then a spinning wheel, and then yarn -- a good reason to open a shop. The shop started small, in Cathy’s living room at Black Locust Farm, moved into a corner of a yoga studio, then moved into our space in the historic bank building on the square in Lodi.

We are bi-stitchual and love both knitters and crocheters. Inspiration is in abundance here. Our feature wall changes with the seasons, with lots of samples on display.

We have a passion for independent dyers and carry yarn from 1918 Yarn Company, Ancient Arts, Destination Yarns, Emma’s Yarn, McMullin, Purl Talk, Sweet Georgia, Zeezee Textiles, and others. Ancient Arts, Destination Yarns, and Zeezee Textiles have all created beautiful, shop exclusive colors for us. You will find luxury and budget-friendly options and a diverse fiber selection. We also carry a large variety of tools and notions.

At Black Locust Farm, we are committed to support you on your journey as a maker. We are happy to provide advice and support for your project and answer your questions. Cathy loves to teach beginners through advanced stitchers. If you buy your products here, we will get you started on the basics for free.

Black Locust Farm is the gathering place for a warm and welcoming community of makers. Stop in and make with us, the table is always open.

Classes are offered regularly and focus on techniques and/or skill-building. Cathy also offers one-on-one spinning classes. Recent class offerings include mosaic knitting, stranded color work, the ladderback jacquard technique, a sweater class, and a sock class. Watch our blog and socials for news about classes.

We’ve got you covered! is a q***r woman-owned, welcoming, and inclusive space that is focused on empowerment and education through fiber arts and just happens to be located in the former location of Harps & Thistles in Downtown Cuyahoga Falls!

In the shop, you’ll find a wide variety of cost effective and luxury yarns, as well as tools for crocheting, knitting, spinning, and more. A carefully curated collection of teachers are available for classes. Intro to crochet & knitting classes are offered monthly as a three week course. As a third space, their community areas are always available, provided there is not a prescheduled event occurring. Additionally, they host several weekly and monthly stitch groups that are craft inclusive, like the Big Q***r Craft Club on Fridays and Sip & Stitch on Sundays. They are ready for their first official appearance along the tour this year and can’t wait to see you!
