" she's the moon" a recent 14x18 inch headed to the Robert Lange Gallery Charleston. This painting went through quite a few changes before ultimately rolling everything back and opting for the simplified minimalist composition. There's just something more dreamlike about it

I finished this large 30x40 in oil paint on stretched canvas recently. This would be the first painting I've done in this hay bale Rising Moon Series in several years. I took a step away after painting about 10 of these in smaller formats.
I was going through some of my smaller studies from back when I lived in Missouri and honestly I wanted to paint the subject again now that I've had time to reflect on it and thought maybe it would bring me back to that feeling I had on those evenings in Missouri. I missed that as much as I love Washington I do still miss the rural feeling of the Farmland out in Missouri.

That purple sky giving way to red before the evening push. one of my fav oil painting studies from 2023. oil on panel 8x8 inch.

This painting along with 9 others will be in a show in La Conner WA called arts alive on sat/sun. "The Sublime" 18x24 inch oil on canvas in floater frame.

Snowy Evening oil paint 13x12 ..I'm excited for winter how about you? This is always the time of year where I produce some unexpected work.

Mini 7x7 inch study in oil paimt of some reef break on Kauai. I filmed this also as a lesson on how to cut in cloud shapes for my patreon.

09/17/2026

This oil painting study was done for my patreon art school as a lesson on how to model light on water. its " afternoon glow on the dungeness" 12x13 inch on canvas.

Out of all the painting lessons I have filmed on clouds I would say that this hour and a half long lesson is probably the best one. My online Art School patreon page has I think around 30 different Sky lessons in the sky section. But there's nothing quite like your traditional daytime puffy clouds. I need to do this subject matter more. My patreon is in a link on my profile in the bio. Or you can just look up my name on patreon
11x14 inch oil paint on canvas "sky study"

just finished this "Moonrise". 18 by 24 inch oil painting on canvas..I remember this evening, I was driving home as the moon was Rising behind me with these specific clouds you see in this painting. I had never quite seen moonlit clouds like this because the sky was still somewhat light from the Twilight. I knew right away id be drawing on these clouds for inspiration for years.

These are three examples paintings featured in filmed lessons for my patreon. I try to teach a variety of different subjects and techniques from impressionism to classical realism. Features like learning how to paint skies and clouds. To even learning how to paint boats and structures. You can find my patreon on my profile or my main site. link in bio
