🎸 WHAT KIND OF MUSIC WILL YOU HEAR? 🎸

One of the questions we’ve been asked the most is…

❤️ MUSIC WITH A PURPOSE ❤️

Rock the Sound isn't just about the music.

From the very beginning, we knew we wanted this event to give back to the community that supports us.

That's why we're proud to partner with two incredible nonprofit organizations:

🌊 Olympic Coast Exploration Center
🏠 Habitat for Humanity of Clallam County

When we shared this crazy idea with them, they didn't hesitate to jump on board. They saw the vision of what Rock the Sound could be and immediately said yes to helping bring it to life.

Habitat for Humanity strives to provide for those in need. They lead with compassion and embody what it means to be humans supporting humans.

Olympic Coast Exploration Center provides education, advocacy, and support for the planet and the creatures that surround us. Their work touches every aspect of what we love about living in the Pacific Northwest.

These organizations do so much more than support their individual causes. They invest their time, energy, and hearts into strengthening our community.

The bands are volunteering.
The nonprofits are showing up because they believe in creating something meaningful together.

This isn't just a festival.

It's musicians, nonprofits, and community members coming together to build something new.

Thank you for helping us turn an idea into something real.

Let's make some noise for something bigger than ourselves.

🎤 BAND ANNOUNCEMENT #4 🎸

We're excited to announce our fourth and final featured band for Rock the Sound Music Fest:

🔥 SELF DIAGNOSED 🔥

Hailing from Sequim, Washington, Self Diagnosed is a 5-piece metal band bringing a fresh generation of heavy music to the Olympic Peninsula.

Originally formed in the spring of 2023 for a high school talent show, the band quickly realized they had something bigger than a one-time performance. Since then, they've been carving out their own place in the local music scene with a sound inspired by the metal and grunge music of the '90s.

A Message from the Band:

"We are a young band hoping to bring back the raw and energetic metal sound from the '90s."

Described by producer Bill Yates as:

🔥 "Pure, Raw, Energetic." 🔥

If you love heavy riffs, gritty vocals, and the kind of energy that reminds you why you fell in love with metal in the first place, you won't want to miss Self Diagnosed.

🎸 WHAT IS ROCK THE SOUND? 🎸

So, the big question is... what is Rock the Sound?

I mean, it's a new music festival, right? But is it something more? Why—and how—did this event come to be?

Believe it or not, Rock the Sound wasn't originally supposed to be a music festival at all.

It started as a conversation...

A few local musicians talking about how much they love the heavier side of music—grunge, metal, hard rock, punk, and all the alternative sounds in between—and realizing that while Clallam County has an incredible arts community, there aren't as many opportunities for those genres to be featured at larger community events.

So we asked ourselves:

"What if we created the event we wish existed?"

The two founding bands started a text chain and began discussing the real possibility of bringing an event like this to life—something that could not only showcase local artists, but also give back to our community and support nonprofits in our area.

What started as an idea for a one-day backyard concert quickly grew into something bigger when we realized just how important it felt to celebrate music that's a little different—and how many people felt the same way.

At the same time, there are so many homegrown bands in our area—whether they're just getting started, have a niche sound, or simply haven't found their place on a bigger stage yet—who deserve the chance to be seen and heard.

Rock the Sound was built by local musicians and nonprofit partners who believe there's room for all kinds of music on the Olympic Peninsula. We believe every genre has an audience, and that when you create space for people to connect through the music they love, community grows stronger because of it.

We want to bring people together. We want to see faces light up when the amps kick in and hearts beat a little faster. We want to Rock the Sound and shine a spotlight on the homegrown artists who do things a little differently.

And this is only the beginning.
