West McLean Presents:
The Kitsap County Ramblers
With Alberta & The Dead Eyes
The Station Event Space Vashon
Saturday, February 21st
6:30pm

The Kitsap County Ramblers, also known as The KCRamblers, began in the summer of 2023 as a makeshift festival band and quickly evolved into a dedicated musical duo featuring Jane Spakowsky on guitar and Paul Moomaw on upright bass. The pair performs a mix of covers and original material they describe as “folkabilly porch music,” a style rooted in rhythm, harmony, and an easygoing acoustic feel.

Since forming, the Ramblers have performed throughout the Pacific Northwest at breweries, festivals, open mics, and community events, occasionally inviting additional musicians to join them depending on the setting. Their sound and approach reflect a down‑home, relaxed musical sensibility, and they have become known for their approachable style and consistent presence in the regional music scene.

Alberta & the Dead Eyes, featuring David Boone and West McLean, promises rich vocal harmonies and a sound with a mid-1970s tint that, as Treble puts it, “rises into a brief moment of transcendence.”

Come early, grab a glass and dine on some delicious pizza, and settle in for a night of soul, rhythm, and sonic storytelling.

Love Duets 7
The Station Event Space Vashon
Saturday, February 14th
7:00pm

Looking for something romantic to do on Valentine's Day? Back by popular demand, Vashon Events brings you "Love Duets 7" this Valentine's Day.

One great singer can make you lean in and listen, but when two voices come together in an inspired pairing… that is truly special. Two voices, one song.

After the amazing success of six Love Duets showcases before Covid hit, Vashon Events is planning a show that will celebrate the most romantic day of the year, Valentines Day.

The concept is simple: two people on stage performing a duet centered around love. In a true duet, both voices carry equal weight, and the magic comes from that shared spotlight. We curate and pair island musicians — parents with their kids, couples, best friends, or simply two people whose voices we think will blend beautifully. The possibilities are endless, and the results have always been unforgettable.

Proceeds from the event support the Vashon Events Music Instrument Library and our community arts, culture, and charity events website. It’s one of our most important fundraisers of the year, and it has always been a truly special night of music.

We think it’s going to be yet another one of those magical nights of music and can’t wait to see what unfolds! We sure hope to see you there!

While our musicians transition on and off the stage, we’re inviting community members to step into the spotlight and read a short love poem—your own original work or a favorite piece that speaks to the heart. It’s a simple, beautiful way to help shape the mood of the night and celebrate love in all its forms.

If you’d like to read a poem during the show, send us a FB message or email ([email protected]) and we’ll get you on the list. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or someone who just loves the magic of words, we’d be thrilled to have you join us. Come help us make this Valentine’s celebration as heartfelt and unforgettable as ever.

Warmly,
Pete & Allison

West McLean Presents:
One More Mile
With opening set by Wes & Shawn Peterson
The Station Event Space Vashon
Saturday, Dec 27th
7:00pm

One More Mile is a blues band from Vashon Island consisting of Jason Lollar, Mike Nichols, Dan Tyack, Wesley Peterson, Chris O'Brien and Chuck Keller. One More Mile plays a mix of classic blues standards with some soul, gospel and New Orleans funk covers mixed in. If you’re a fan of artists such as Freddie King, The Meters, Spencer Davis Group, John Lee Ho**er or Little Walter, this might be the band for you. One More Mile has been an island favorite at Strawberry Festival, Concerts at the Park, and Blues and Brews fest.

Jason Lollar is an accomplished blues guitarist who has played all over the northwest from the Washington Athletic Club to the Oregon State Penitentiary. He is the founder of world-renowned custom guitar pickup company Lollar Pickups.

Mike Nichols is an award winning blues harpist who has toured extensively with The Great Divide and opened for Elvin Bishop and Commander Cody, among others.

Dan Tyack is a premiere session player and innovator on lap and pedal steel guitars. He’s played Carnegie Hall, The Grand Old Opry, San Quentin Prison and every h***y tonk and state fair in between.

Chris O’Brien has been a piano, organ and guitar player for decades with love of blues, jazz and rock music. While living on Vashon, he has played with The Confessions (soul and R&B), Alchemy (rock), One More Mile (blues), the Fabulous Coop House Band (various) and several jazz combos among others.

Wesley Peterson has drummed and sang with Saint Ophelia, Tim Couldn’t Make it, and some killer dudes from Poulsbo.

Chuck Keller has played bass for Saint Ophelia, Star Anna and Once for Kicks, among others.

We're excited host The Yellin' Degenerates for an evening of energetic jazz+funk+soul+blues infused music, the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Wine Shop Vashon will be serving beer & wine and it's sure to be a good time! See you there!

The Yellin' Degenerates
@ The Station Event Space Vashon
Saturday, November 29th
7:00 pm

Get ready for a night where jazz, funk, soul, and blues blend into an electrifying, improvisation-driven and americana-infused experience. The Yellin’ Degenerates bring their shape-shifting sound to The Station on Saturday, November 29th, for an eclectic performance powered by four artists who live and breathe musical expression.

John Pinetree, multi-instrumentalist and storyteller, brings his bass-baritone voice, guitar grooves, and searing harmonica to songs that explore hope, love, movement, compassion, loss, and gratitude. He and the band move fluidly from old-school blues and jazz into neo-soul and funk, always honoring improvisation and the spirit of the audience.

Jose “Juicy” Gonzales, pianist and singer—rooted in jazz, fueled by the blues, marinated in funk—has performed internationally and been featured on BBC Radio 2. Influenced by Monk, Bill Evans, Oscar Peterson, and Miles Davis, as well as Elton John, The Beatles, and Prince, Juicy’s sound is vibrant and expressive. His beloved A Charlie Brown Christmas show has sold out one of Seattle’s biggest venues for 11 years straight.

Rounding out the ensemble are bassist Michael Marcus, laying down warm, intuitive low-frequency foundations, and drummer Emory Miedema-Boyajian, whose dynamic rhythms drive the band’s ever-shifting soundscape.

Expect bold solos, spontaneous interplay, infectious grooves, and a room alive with creativity. Wine Shop Vashon will be serving wine, beer and bites. Join us for an unforgettable evening!

Tickets: $10 presale (venmo -music) or $15 at the door and day of.

Tim Couldn’t Make It presents: “The Go Away Rick Party”
The Station Event Space Vashon
17816 Vashon Hwy SW
Friday, November 14th | 5:30-9:30pm
$10 suggested cover
Special Guest: Wild Blue Morning
Official Statement from the Band:

Once again, and with a level of resignation typically reserved for airline delays and jury duty, we must inform you: Tim Couldn’t Make It. Not now. Not ever. Not even in hologram form.

This time, Tim’s absence is due to what he describes as “a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to co-author a self-help book with a sentient mushroom.” He’s currently off-grid in a yurt somewhere near Sedona, communing with fungi and refusing to answer texts unless they’re written in haiku. He sends his regards, a pinecone with googly eyes, and a firm “no” to any requests for a surprise appearance.

To clarify:

Tim will not be on stage.

Tim will not be backstage.

Tim will not be disguised as a wine barrel.

Tim will not be performing via drone.

Tim will not be hiding in Rick’s beard.

Now, about Rick. This show marks Rick’s final performance with TCMI before he embarks on his next adventure: opening a kombucha speakeasy for emotionally fragile alpacas. Yes, it’s real. No, you can’t invest. So come say goodbye before he disappears into a cloud of fermented dreams and wool.

This will be TCMI’s last show on Vashon for the foreseeable future. Unless, of course, Tim returns from his mushroom mentorship with a new sense of purpose and a working vehicle.

Important Note on Audience Conduct: Please, for the love of all that is tuneful and trauma-free: no undergarment projectiles.

Doug still wakes up screaming “BRAS!”
Bruce has developed a sixth sense for airborne lace.
Wes has a strict “no socks, no service” policy.
And Rick—well, Rick’s therapist has asked us to stop bringing it up.

A new addition to the band is Lonesome Mike Nicols, who is neither lonesome nor named Mike, but we’ve all agreed to stop asking questions. Mike will be performing while seated on a vintage suitcase filled with harmonicas, existential dread, and one unopened can of SpaghettiOs from 1987. He’s promised to play at least three chords, two truths, and one legally questionable yodel. Please do not feed him during the show—he’s on a strict diet of irony and lukewarm Pinot Noir.

The band (Doug Pine, Bruce Phares, Wes Peterson, Lonesome Mike Nicols and Rick Dahms) will perform songs about heartbreak, hope, and the kind of psychedelic confusion that only comes from eating gas station sushi in a thunderstorm. Expect to laugh, cry, and possibly adopt a new life philosophy by the second chorus.

Tim Couldn’t Make It. But you can. And you should. Seriously. Rick’s already halfway out the door.

Come raise a glass, enjoy the tunes, and send Rick off in style.
