Calling all improv AND scripted actors!
We want you for the next iteration of Script Tease Seattle, happening March 1-2 and March 8-9 at Jet City Improv as part of their 25th Anniversary season.
Script Tease is an improvised show where actors perform a staged reading of the first six scripted pages of a new play by a local playwright, then improvise the rest of the brand-new play live, using the scripted pages as the improv prompt. The playwright establishes a world, characters, and possibly the beginnings of the plot. It’s up to you as a performer to finish it out with your cast!
Each week will have its own playwright, director, and cast. For the March 1-2 shows, casting is open to all. For the March 8-9 shows, we are seeking an all-black creative team. We have two reasons for doing this:
1) In cases where roles are not written in a racially specific way, the default in casting throughout the country has been to cast white actors. We'd like to turn that default on its head.
2) If the playwright wishes to write to issues specific to black experience, he will have the freedom to do so.
For the first week, the playwright is Kelleen Conway Blanchard, and the director is Dave Clapper.
For the second week, the playwright is Brandon J. Simmons, and the director is Sadiqua Iman.
Schedule for the first week:
Rehearsals:
Sunday, Feb 25 – 3pm-6pm
Tuesday, Feb 27 – 7pm-10pm
Wednesday, Feb 28 – 7pm-10pm

Must be 18 or older. This is a "paper" audition. We will review resumes and head shots and cast from those. Please send your head shot, resume, week preferred, and any conflicts to [email protected] by midnight February 13. We will respond to all emails with casting notice by midnight February 16. This pays a $30 stipend ($15 per performance).
Script Tease is trademarked by National Theatre of the World, and is produced in Seattle with their permission.
