I can’t sleep, man. The murder of Cyrus Carmack-Belton is weighing heavy on my mind right now.
That boy was only 14 fu***ng years old.
Hunted down and gunned down in the street like a goddamn dog over a bottle of fu***ng water and they let that piece of s**t Rick Chow walk. 🤬
I’m so fu***ng angry and sad right now. We’re watching history repeat itself damn near every day, while being told we’re supposed to “love” this country, despite how utterly exhausting this country continues to be for people who look like us.
Once upon a time, I was genuinely proud to be an American. Then I learned how America really felt about Black Americans.

I wrote my song “Deja Vu” shortly after George Floyd was murdered. It was the follow-up to our song “Black Privilege,” where we talked about Trayvon Martin, Tamir Rice, and so many other victims.
The cover art for “Deja Vu” is a short list of the many, many names of our brothers and sisters who lost their lives because of the hatred and disdain this country has toward Black people.
