Looking back to look forward 💫

KDC had some very memorable collaborations this year - we fondly look back as we set our sites on the tours to come in the next few moths 🌎

KDC worked with Myownmove of South Korea on a collaboration for the opening of SIDF June Fest 2026. Shown are pieces of a duet KDC Director Cyrus Khambatta worked on with Rodrick Barnes of KDC and, Korean dancer from myownmove, Eunchae Hong.🌀

KDC also worked with Collectivo Glovo of Spain for the mini fest earlier this year forming a life long bond that brought them out to Spain in return!💃🏻

It is a beautiful thing to be so close to other creators/dancers from around the world - We hope Seattle audiences will see them both on the SIDF stage again soon!

Next stop ✈️ South Korea (end of Sept.), India (late winter), France (early spring)🚨

Artist Opportunity ‼️ Apply to 2027 CityArtist

Applications due July 14, 2026, 5 PM Pacific🚨

The CityArtist grant supports Seattle-based individual artists/curators in the research, development, and presentation of creative work. 

The 2027 application is open to artists + curators working in Dance, Music, and Theater (including Playwriting)💫

Awarded artists will need to offer a public presentation within Seattle city limits. We support a broad range of artistic and cultural expression reflecting the city’s diversity.  

This program is open to specific discipline clusters in alternate years: 
* Odd-Year (2027): Dance, Music, and Theater (including Playwriting) 
* Even-Year (2028): Literary, Media/Film (including Screenwriting), and Visual Art

Young movers explore their creativity through daily dance classes, imaginative activities, and fun choreography, culminating in an informal performance for family and friends. (A healthy snack is served each day to keep their imagination fueled!)
