Dear Crush/Repeat community,
We are writing to you with an update about C/R 2024. This project has brought us so much love, collective joy and connection since it began in 2014, and we are so grateful to the community of artists, volunteers, past organizers, galleries and everyone who helped make it a magical success! 💐
With the ongoing genocide in Gaza and other factors, our organizing energy and capacity cups are full right now. To honor that, we are moving C/R into a fully self guided project this year. We encourage folks to continue to keep the spirit of C/R alive by creating art every day in March (or as many days of the month as possible)! 🌹
We will support you in this by reposting your art to our stories on Instagram if you tag us .repeat and use the hashtags & 🪷
We will also post your art projects to our website in a 2024 gallery if you turn in your work by Friday April 12th. We will provide guidelines and the submission form towards the end of March. 🌸
If you too feel drawn to focusing your creative and organizing energies in solidarity with Palestine this year, we encourage you to use C/R to help you channel that energy. What about creating a protest poster a day, writing and performing protest chants/songs you make up, or making art to sell to help fundraise for e-sims/local Palestinian organizers/Palestinian led orgs in Gaza? 🍉
Of course you’re welcome to use C/R in whichever way feels good for you creatively, as always! This is your time to explore new mediums, new themes, new ideas, or mess around with tried and true ones, whatever you feel drawn to and inspired by! 🌺
We love this project and would love for it to live on forever. We will always be here to support you and answer questions if you’ve got them. We trust you to pour your love and energy into your creative practice and Crush/Repeat, and we can’t wait to see what you bring to life this year, just like always! 🌻
