Art Rock • Punk Cabaret: A Molotov cocktail of art-rock and punk cabaret, steeped in death-lounge, Tiki Noir, and
exotica, with splashes of surf, goth, and psychobilly. Salon Betty, often described as 'Burlesque Gone Bad' and a Dark & Sleazy Cabaret, was the first punk cabaret band in the Pacific Northwest, drawing inspiration from punk and new wave artists like Nina Hagen, Grace Jones, and Klaus Nomi. Betty X, who founded the band, is credited with coining the terms 'Death Lounge,' 'Deathabilly,' and 'Gothabilly.' Active in Seattle from 1993 to 1997, Betty X later reformed Salon Betty in Prague and Boston during 1997-1998. The band’s devoted fans were dubbed 'Bettephiles' by The Stranger writer Jamie Hook.

SALON BETTY NEVER REALLY DISAPPEARED. WE JUST WENT UNDERGROUND

AFTER A LONG HIATUS, BETTY + BAT FINKIE ARE BACK TO MAKING NOISE. SOME SONGS HAVE BEEN WAITING DECADES TO SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY. TIME TO UNLEASH THE MONSTERS.

🖤 👽💀🌺👹🖤

After a hiatus from writing new music since the **early 2000s**, Bat Finkie and I started making NOISE together again during the PANDEMIC.

We dug through the archives. Unearthed unfinished songs. Opened a few old wounds. And awakened some strange creatures that had been lurking in our subconscious for DECADES.

Apparently, some monsters refuse to stay buried. And some songs refuse to die.

**BETTY + BAT FINKIE. BACK IN THE STUDIO. THE BEAUTIFUL WEIRDNESS CONTINUES.** 🖤🎹👹
