I have been painting for about six years and feel that I’m just now finding my creative voice (that I actually love) in my art. It’s such a good and validating feeling. Like a treasure that has been found!
For a long time, I would cringe at the thought of trying to draw or paint using intuition and spontaneity vs a concept that is all mapped out before I even begin.
I have many people to thank for helping me expand this part of my creative practice, but I’m especially grateful for ’s intuitive creative workshops, art therapy expertise, and Shaun McNiff’s “Art Heals.” You’ve all taught and showed me that making art is more than just a skillset to be learned and for the viewer to find meaning in, but an experience that is a journey deeply felt with the artwork having a soul of its own.
If you’re still struggling to find your voice, don’t give up! Just keep making from a place of authenticity and genuine joy and pleasure. You’ll find it (or better yet, it will find you). 💛
