I have been painting for about six years and feel that I’m just now finding my creative voice (that I actually love) in my art. It’s such a good and validating feeling. Like a treasure that has been found!

For a long time, I would cringe at the thought of trying to draw or paint using intuition and spontaneity vs a concept that is all mapped out before I even begin.

I have many people to thank for helping me expand this part of my creative practice, but I’m especially grateful for ’s intuitive creative workshops, art therapy expertise, and Shaun McNiff’s “Art Heals.” You’ve all taught and showed me that making art is more than just a skillset to be learned and for the viewer to find meaning in, but an experience that is a journey deeply felt with the artwork having a soul of its own.

If you’re still struggling to find your voice, don’t give up! Just keep making from a place of authenticity and genuine joy and pleasure. You’ll find it (or better yet, it will find you). 💛

What a night! I’m so grateful for everyone who joined us at for the opening of Invisible Threads: Matrilineages of Blood, Time, and Place during ! ☁️💘☁️

✨ Congratulations, ! You curated a magical group exhibit. ✨

My new piece “Somatic Memories Upon Dreams” is a dialogue with my perfectionism — a part of me shaped by anxiety, fear, and need for control — all too familiar byproducts of white supremacy culture.

Getting to know this part through image-making allowed me to heal painful gastrointestinal issues I experienced in 2025 and showed me how to slow down, listen to my body and create intuitively, rather than productively with speed and perfection. 🙅🏻‍♀️ Creating this piece was a deeply healing and liberating experience.

The tendency to be in control also feels inherited, like a coping mechanism, shaped by generations of women before me and the forced Christianization of Lithuania, my ancestral home and the last European pagan nation.

💌 Read more about this piece and my works in progress in my newsletter: https://tinyurl.com/4n9suff6 You will get only one newsletter/month to your inbox at most.

👁️ Invisible Threads will be open through March 28! If you didn’t get to see the group exhibit last weekend, come check it out for the next on March 14.

❤️‍🔥 Join me for the opening of “Invisible Threads: Matrilineages of Blood, Time, and Place,” a group art exhibition curated by at during the ! ❤️‍🔥

See my new artwork and celebrate Valentine’s Day with your friends or sweeties in Georgetown! 💘 This SATURDAY 4-8 PM.

*You can drop in and leave at anytime between 4-8 p.m. This exhibit will be available to view until March 28.

About the Exhibit:
In Invisible Threads: Matrilineages of Blood, Time, and Place, we trace the subtle but powerful connections that stretch across generations. Through this process of discovery, we uncover the silent legacies carried within our bodies, waiting to be heard. Art becomes a way to honor these matrilineal pathways, giving form to the unseen bonds that connect us to those who came before.

This exhibition challenges us to rethink the way we understand inheritance—not just as the passing down of genetic traits, but as the transmission of memory, wisdom, and strength. Through the act of artistic exploration, we can recover what was lost, reframe what was forgotten, and offer new narratives that give voice to the women who shaped the fabric of our being. In doing so, we not only uncover family mysteries but also reclaim the power of our matrilineal histories and our selfhood, illuminating the transcendental threads that link us all.

You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting -
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.
