This morning bright and early I decided to make a couple blocks for my other quilt top.
Yep, I've got two quilt tops going at once. I'm thinking this one will be a lap quilt and I am playing around with pairing this block with an Irish chain in creams and something else which I haven't decided yet. If you look closely you can spot my mistakes. The center block should have had a green center, but hey I like it so I'm leaving it the way it is. Secondly, for some reason that I can't fathom, the third block there is .25 of an inch smaller all the way around than the other two blocks. That's a problem, and I'm not sure what to do about it. She may end up becoming a pillow cover. Time will tell and we'll see 👀.

I just had to put together one more so I could see two together side by side. I'm a little worried that the center block might be a tad too bright; but shockingly my husband loves it. Well, knock me over with a feather! Everyone who know my dear better half knows he does not go for bright colors. He genuinely likes this though. Aw... 🩷 that makes me so happy. This will be my first queen size quilt.

The prep work can take quite a while and sometimes multiple trips back to the store for more fabric. Because somehow during all the choosing, pressing and cutting... your project suddenly morphs into a much larger endeavor. I've gotten a lot done but still have a good way to go yet before all the prep is finished.

I finally finished this little quilt yesterday. Today it was wash and dried. It's machine pieced and hand quilted in the Orange peel design. It turned out beautifully 😍! I am thrilled with how well this came out and how cuddly it feels. This one is a very past due gift for an adorable little girl.
